My mom had these books on her shelves.

Out of curiosity, I started reading them, initially attracted by the prehistoric setting. However, as I delved deeper, my attention began to wander.

Instead of following the story linearly, I found myself skipping around, my eyes drawn to the erotic content within the pages.

It felt like this was the very first time I had noticed and found such sexual content interesting.

The discovery was both exciting and a bit bewildering.

I remember the rush of anticipation as I turned each page, wondering what new and tantalizing scenes I might uncover.

This experience with my mom's books had a profound impact on my perception of literature and my own developing sexuality.

It was a moment of self-discovery that I would never forget.

The first two of these were rather good. They presented vivid imagery, and the concept of utilizing the archeological record to construct a story offered entertaining reads.

However, then they commenced to become extremely redundant. I began to be significantly irritated regarding the numerous things the protagonist was "inventing" or figuring out. Flint sparking fire, birth control, and the bow and arrow - she essentially had the education of that French boy who grew up with wolves, yet she was supposed to be the cavewoman Einstein.

It simply got tiresome. The continuous stream of inventions and discoveries made by the protagonist seemed far-fetched and overdone. It reached a point where it detracted from the overall enjoyment of the story. Instead of being impressed by her capabilities, I found myself rolling my eyes at the absurdity of it all.

Perhaps if the author had been more selective in the number of inventions attributed to the protagonist, or had spread them out more evenly throughout the narrative, it would have been a more engaging and believable read. As it stands, it just felt like a never-ending parade of "look what she can do" moments that ultimately lost their impact.

Ayla's journey in the second book of the Clan of the Cave Bears series starts off a little slow.

After being sentenced to death by her clan, she is on her own, in search of "the others". Along the way, she befriends a horse and a cave bear, which shows her remarkable ability to connect with animals.

Meanwhile, Jondular is living his own life. He is helped by Ayla, even though she doesn't speak his language or know his customs. This initial encounter sets the stage for a budding romance.

The story unfolds as Ayla and Jondular's relationship deepens. Despite their differences, they are drawn to each other.

The second half of the book is better, as the plot thickens and the reader becomes more invested in the characters' lives.

Overall, it's an engaging read that combines elements of adventure, romance, and survival.

I absolutely loved "Clan of the Cave Bear". It was a captivating and immersive read that took me back to a prehistoric world. The story, the characters, and the setting were all so well-developed that I couldn't put the book down.

However, when it came to "Valley of Horses", my opinion was a bit different. It's not that the book wasn't good. In fact, it had its own merits. But for some reason, I felt that the author was injecting too many modern-day values into the characters. It made the story seem a bit less authentic and took away from the overall prehistoric atmosphere.

Maybe it's just a personal preference, but I would have preferred if the author had stuck more closely to the mindset and values of the prehistoric era. Nevertheless, I still appreciate the author's efforts in creating these two wonderful books and would recommend them to anyone interested in historical fiction or prehistoric life.

I have a deep affection for the first book. It truly captivated me with its engaging plot and well-developed characters.

However, when it comes to the second book, although it had its merits, it took a rather carnal turn. This aspect seemed to overshadow the other elements of the story and detracted from its overall quality.

It felt as if the author was more focused on including these carnal details rather than furthering the narrative in a meaningful way.

As a result, it somewhat diminished my enjoyment of the book and made me question whether the author had lost sight of what made the first book so great.

Overall, while the second book had some good moments, the excessive carnality was a disappointment.

The second installment in the Clan of the Cave Bear series is truly captivating.

In this book, the main character undergoes significant growth and embarks on yet another thrilling adventure.

The story is truly fabulous, filled with excitement and intrigue at every turn.

However, it must be noted that there is perhaps a bit too much description of the surroundings at times.

While this can add to the atmosphere and setting of the story, it can also cause the pacing to slow down a bit.

Nevertheless, the overall story is so engaging that it more than makes up for this minor flaw.

Readers will be drawn in by the main character's journey and will be eager to see what lies ahead for them in the next installment of the series.

This book truly served as a lifeline for me during those long and arduous days when I was sitting vigil by my dying husband's bedside.

It provided a much-needed escape from the harsh reality that was unfolding before my eyes.

Over the years, it has evolved into a favorite theme of mine: the story of strong women who manage to survive and thrive on their own.

These women are an inspiration, showing that even in the face of great adversity, one can find the strength within to carry on.

Their tales of courage and determination have taught me that no matter how difficult life may get, there is always hope and the possibility of a better tomorrow.

This book has not only entertained me but also given me the courage and motivation to face my own challenges with grace and dignity.

It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Finally, there is someone who has the courage to write about caveman sex.

This is a rather bold and perhaps unexpected topic. It's not something that is commonly discussed or written about in such a direct manner.

One can only imagine the reactions that this author might receive. It could be a source of great interest and curiosity for some, while others might be shocked or offended.

However, it takes courage to explore and write about such uncharted territory.

It's important to note that this topic might not be suitable for all audiences.

But for those who are willing to venture into this area of discussion, it could potentially offer some unique insights and perspectives.

Nevertheless, it's advisable to approach this topic with an open mind and a sense of respect for different viewpoints.

After all, everyone has their own opinions and beliefs when it comes to such sensitive and controversial subjects.

So, if you happen to come across this author at a bar, it might be an interesting conversation, but be prepared for a wide range of possible reactions.

Ok, so I'm a little embarrassed to admit I even read these.

To be frank, they were porn poorly masked with caveman drama. This is precisely the reason why I finished them.

Oh, and if you had the intention of reading this for any sort of educational reason, don't.

The research that went into being able to adequately portray caveman culture must have surely been derailed by J. Auel passing out in front of All My Children.

It seems that the author's focus might not have been on presenting an accurate and educational account of caveman life.

Rather, it appears to be more about creating a steamy and perhaps somewhat titillating story under the guise of caveman drama.

While it may have held my attention long enough to finish, it certainly doesn't offer much in the way of legitimate educational value.

One can only wonder what might have happened if the author had taken a more serious approach to the research and portrayal of caveman culture.

Perhaps it could have been a truly interesting and informative read.

But as it stands, it's more of a guilty pleasure that doesn't quite live up to any educational expectations.
