Alternative Title: Stephanie's Identity Crisis and the Sugar Quitting Chaos

This story had me in stitches! Stephanie finds herself in the midst of an identity crisis and decides to quit sugar, which leads to absolute chaos. As soon as she leaves, Lula steps up and goes full bounty hunter to fill the void. Meanwhile, the relationship between Morelli and Stephanie is still unresolved after the last book, and both Ranger and Morelli express their deep feelings for her. However, Stephanie is unable to say the "L" word back to either of them. Her family is a complete disaster too. Her sister and fiancée abandon the wedding and flee to Disney, and her mother and grandmother end up having a hilarious and very expensive food fight with the wedding cake. Lol! This book was an absolute blast to read and had me laughing out loud from start to finish. It's full of crazy antics, love triangles, and family drama that will keep you entertained until the very end.

I truly have an immense love for this series.

The characters within it are simply outstanding. They are well-developed, each with their own unique personalities and traits that make them extremely likable and engaging.

The story line is a captivating blend of amusement, excitement, and mystery. In this particular installment, Stephanie decides to give up bounty hunting. After facing three consecutive jobs that go awry, Ranger steps in and offers her a position as a researcher. This new role brings them into close contact throughout the entire day.

Meanwhile, Joe is sidelined with a broken leg and continuously expresses his love for Stephanie. However, in this love triangle, I still firmly stand in favor of Ranger. Ranger doesn't desire Stephanie to change. Instead, he does everything in his power to protect her. On the other hand, Joe often makes statements like his mother and sisters being content to stay at home and raise children, which gives the impression that he has more traditional views.

Overall, it's a truly great story filled with mystery and wonderful characters that keep you hooked from start to finish.

Though I'm certain this won't come to pass, I have a fondness for the concept of Stephanie evolving into more of a dedicated investigator rather than remaining a bounty hunter indefinitely. There's something about the idea of her using her sharp intellect and skills to solve mysteries and uncover the truth that really appeals to me.

Moreover, I remain a committed Ranger/Stephanie shipper. Their relationship has always intrigued me, and I love imagining the various ways in which it could develop and deepen. Whether it's through shared adventures, moments of vulnerability, or simply the way they interact with each other, there's a palpable chemistry between them that keeps me rooting for them.

I think if Stephanie were to become an investigator, it could add an interesting new dimension to their relationship. Maybe Ranger would provide her with the resources and support she needs to succeed in her new role, while Stephanie would bring a fresh perspective and a new set of skills to the table.

Overall, while I know that this is just a fantasy, it's one that I enjoy entertaining from time to time. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Stephanie and Ranger, and I'm sure that whatever happens, it will be exciting and full of surprises.

I own a paperback copy of this book.

It's extremely convenient as I can easily pick it up and read whenever I'm not feeling well and find it difficult to hold a larger book.

Moreover, I can mark it up to keep track of my progress within the book.

This particular book never fails to offer a good dose of entertainment. There are always several moments that make me laugh out loud, and at the same time, it also has some spine-chilling frights.

In fact, this one is especially scary.

The story follows Stephanie Plum as she starts working for Ranger, and let me tell you, he is almost as hot as Jacob Black! ;-)

It's a real page-turner that keeps me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a thrilling and entertaining read.

Eleven is my favorite number this week.

There are several reasons for this. Firstly, it has an interesting appearance. The two digits, one and one, seem to stand out and have a certain charm. Secondly, it is associated with plenty of big picture influences. In some cultures and belief systems, the number eleven holds special significance. It might symbolize new beginnings, spiritual awakening, or a connection to something greater.

Moreover, there is a lot of humor associated with the number eleven. For example, in some jokes or comical situations, the number eleven is used in a lighthearted and amusing way. It can bring a smile to people's faces and add a touch of fun to the day. Overall, I really loved this number eleven this week. It has captured my attention and imagination with its interesting qualities and associations.

Stephanie has reached her limit with bounty hunting. She is eager to give a more "normal" job a try. However, fate seems to have other plans as bounty hunting refuses to release its hold on her. A case from her past is resurfacing, showing its unsightly face. To make matters worse, a crazy person is causing explosions and stalking Stephanie.

One of the aspects I truly enjoy about these books is the humor. It never fails to make me laugh out loud. My absolute favorite character is Lula. Her antics crack me up, and I admire her unwavering confidence. In this particular book, I adored the scenes with her and Mama Macaroni, although that mole was rather unsettling.

At times, I find Stephanie's choices a bit questionable, but she never allows that to dampen her spirit. She always manages to find a way out of difficult situations. I can't help but wonder if she and Joe can withstand the test of time. It is increasingly mentioned how her job and the associated stress are taking a toll on Joe.

I am curious to see how their relationship will evolve and if Stephanie will be able to break free from the clutches of bounty hunting and find the normalcy she desires.

As I've said before, I don't mind if these books become repetitive. The reason is that even when they are part of a series, they can still function as standalone works. So, their repetitiveness is somewhat forgiven. However, this forgiveness does not come at the expense of their humor.

Starting from the 9th book, this series has begun to decline in both the humor and mystery aspects. But "Eleven on Top" was definitely an improvement over the previous two books. Nevertheless, it still wasn't quite good enough. I'll read the next book to see if it gets better. Otherwise, I'm going to call it quits, at least for the time being.

I'm hoping that the author can bring back the charm and excitement that made the earlier books in the series so enjoyable. Maybe there will be new twists and turns in the mystery, and the humor will be more engaging. Only time will tell.

3.5/5.

This book had its moments, but it wasn't without its flaws.

One of the redeeming qualities of this book was its humor. It was quite funny at times, which really added to the overall reading experience.

However, the mystery aspect of the book was a bit of a letdown. It felt quite subpar and seemed like an afterthought.

The plot didn't really have the same level of depth and complexity as some of the other mysteries I've read.

Despite this, I still found myself enjoying the book overall. The characters were well-developed and the writing style was engaging.

If you're looking for a lighthearted read with a bit of humor, then this book might be worth checking out. But if you're a die-hard mystery fan, you might be a bit disappointed.

Overall, I would rate this book a 3.5 out of 5.

This was, well, fine? I guess??

It's extremely predictable, and to be honest, more than a little repetitive. Let me explain. Steph decides she's tired of being a bounty hunter and quits to pursue a series of ultimately unsuccessful jobs. During this time, things catch on fire, cars blow up, and Grandma Mazur attempts to break into coffins. Steph's mother resorts to downing a few shots of whisky to cope with her daughter's chaotic life. Steph often ends up covered in garbage. Morelli sighs frequently over Steph's life choices while affectionately calling her Cupcake. Ranger, on the other hand, smirks a lot and says "Babe" in a variety of tones.

So, right from the start, you basically know what to anticipate. And despite having some moments that might make you chuckle, it becomes extremely rinse-and-repeat-y.

Frankly, the overall plot dragged on, and then suddenly, for the last, say, 15 pages, it was super action-packed. Which wasn't the most ideal.

In conclusion, it could have been worse, but it was also completely forgettable.

Stephanie Plum, upon realizing that she has become the target of a killer, makes the decision that it is high time for her to bid farewell to the Bounty Hunter game. In just a span of 3 days, she experiences a rollercoaster of job changes. She manages to obtain 3 jobs, but unfortunately, loses two of them. One job is lost because the business owner meets with an explosion, and the other is due to the loss of the business itself in a fire.

Finally, Stephanie lands a job with Rangeman, which is Ranger's business. She is hired as a researcher, and it seems that there is no danger involved. However, we are talking about Stephanie Plum here, the so-called "walking disaster zone".

The story is filled with danger, excitement, and laughter, making it yet another successful installment in the Plum series by Evanovich.

Readers are sure to be captivated by Stephanie's misadventures and the thrilling twists and turns that await her in this latest adventure.

Eleven on Top

Really ALL of the Stephanie Plum’s I have Read Thus Far

Janet Evanovich

I have a special place in my heart for the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It all began about three years ago. One day, while at my mother-in-law's friend's pool, she couldn't stop raving about these books. Intrigued, I decided to give them a try. I borrowed the first one, One for the Money, from my local library and devoured it in about three days. The story was well-written, with a humorous plot and some unexpected twists that made for a satisfying ending. However, after that first book, I wasn't overly enthusiastic like my mother-in-law's friend. I shared this with a co-worker who had read most of the series, and she felt the same way about the first book but encouraged me to try the second.

During that time, I was traveling frequently for work and spending a lot of time in my car. I started borrowing the next few books on CD from the library to pass the long hours on the road. That's when I truly fell in love with Stephanie Plum. The narrator brought the characters to life in a whole new way, and I couldn't get enough of the books. I can't recall exactly which book I was on when I had a rather unpleasant experience. I was on the road again and eager to listen to another Stephanie Plum adventure. I popped in the CD, but to my horror, the narrator had changed! I was convinced that I wouldn't like the books anymore. But I was wrong. I still loved the mystery surrounding Stephanie, cheered when she and Joe got back together, and secretly hoped she and Ranger would have more of a relationship. I adored their family, their crazy lives, and the fact that every woman in Trenton carried a gun, even the seniors!

So, for the past three years, the Stephanie Plum series has been my little reading secret. I don't talk about them much because I read them so quickly that I'm afraid I can't do them justice. That's why I'm writing this review. Last Saturday, during a home improvement project, I had some downtime. I was struggling with a book club book and wanted something轻松有趣的 to read. I picked up Eleven On Top, and it was like having a reunion with an old friend. I immediately got back into the groove, enjoying the laugh-out-loud moments, the fun, the twists and turns, Lula's outrageous outfits, and Ranger's perfect body. By 9:00 that night, I had finished the book in just about four hours, but it was an afternoon filled with smiles and a reminder of why I fell in love with Stephanie Plum in the first place.

Most of Ms. Evanovich's books I obtain through Paperback Swap. Occasionally, I'll borrow one from the library, but my to-be-read pile is growing rapidly, and I don't want to put any time constraints on myself. These books are great little reads, fun mysteries with a touch of good food, bad fashion, big hair, and sex, along with gun-toting grannies and a funeral home that's always busy. If you're looking for something to pass the time during Spring Break or while traveling, any of the Stephanie Plum books will do the trick! I highly recommend reading them in order as the characters develop and there's a method to the madness. All of the books are extremely well-written, and you'll quickly get to know the characters. You'll feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of each book, but you'll always want more! I've already added Twelve Sharp to my PBS Wish List!
