The global album that Mick creates for the listener is like

a story about the deepest love

a love that cannot be seen

a love that cannot be understood

"Maternal love"

The spatial story, the temporal and episodic compositions, the way of narration, and in general, everything was excellent

Mick's album (except for the book "Wednesdays with Morrie") has the ability to give advice, even if you are afraid of listening to advice, in such a way that you accept that word and advice with skin, flesh, and bones

"For One More Day" was a story of the unsaid

a story of one day of life by the side of a mother who is no longer there

a story of getting answers to questions that you never asked during your life

The overall space of the story takes the form around one life and the past of a boy, the divorce of his parents, his attempt at suicide, and his imagined meeting with his mother

The discovery of the unsaid that has remained unsaid for years forms the overall shape of the story.

Eh. I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about this guy.

This book was just...OK. I can't say that I liked it a great deal, nor can I say that I detested it. The author is indeed a good storyteller. He has a good command of structure and the craft of writing. And he comes across to me as a consummate professional.

Just like Picasso was rumoured to have the ability to draw a "perfect circle" freehand, but the resulting line isn't necessarily a great work of art.

I suppose the nature of the material just wasn't something I could relate to very well. I tried really hard, but in the end, I still felt very detached from the events and the characters. I finished the book with a small sigh of relief, put it up on a shelf, and eagerly picked up a book that I had only partially read to see if I could still connect with something more to my liking.

Fair warning: if you are a son who feels he has wronged his mother, bring some tissues with you to your reading room if you pick up this tome.

Unfair warning: if the above doesn't apply to you, or you are a mother and your son is just fine in your opinion, bring some cards or something to your reading room to keep yourself entertained.

Book Another Day

The book is about a mother and her son and the relationship that continues even after death. The central question of the book is this: If you could spend just one more day with a beloved one who has passed away, what would you do?

If you had the chance, just one chance, to go back in time and correct a mistake you made in life, would you take this opportunity?

And if you did this, are you strong enough to bear the consequences?

This book explores these profound questions and takes the readers on an emotional journey. It makes us think about the value of our relationships and the importance of making the most of the time we have with our loved ones. It also makes us question our own courage and strength when faced with the possibility of changing the past.

Overall, Book Another Day is a thought-provoking and moving read that will stay with you long after you have finished the last page.

MUST READ BOOK!!!

This story by Mitch Albom is truly captivating. It tells the tale of Charley 'Chick' Benetto and his mother Pauline 'Posey' Benetto. Chick's irresponsible father Len forces him to choose between his parents when he is young. Choosing his father, Chick is later abandoned when he enters adolescence. Posey, a single mother working as a nurse, raises Chick and his sister. One important lesson from the novel is about the word 'divorce'. We often think of it as'separation', but it actually comes from the word 'DIVERTERE' meaning 'to change'. Divorce indeed changes a person, taking them away from what they thought and wanted and leading them into different circumstances. Posey's advice at Chick's wedding emphasizes the importance of loving in three aspects: each other, children (if any), and the marriage itself. Loving the marriage is crucial during conflicts when the couple may not love each other at that moment. Remembering the happy times and looking at wedding or family photos can help keep the marriage intact. This book is a must-read, full of valuable life lessons.

Belinya sudah lama.

It has been a long time since I bought it.

Bacanya baru sekarang.

I'm reading it only now.

Agak nyesel baru dibaca yah...

I kind of regret reading it only now.

Hmpft! :'(

Hmph! :'(

I really should have read this earlier. Maybe I would have gained more from it or had a different experience.

But better late than never, I guess.

Now that I'm finally reading it, I'll try to make the most of it and see what new insights or knowledge I can gain.

Who knows, maybe this late reading will turn out to be a pleasant surprise.

I just hope I don't have too many more books that I regret not reading sooner.

Confession: I actually DNF'ed Tuesdays with Morrie sometime last year. I thought it was pretentious, dull and lack narration.

So, when it came to reading For One More Day, I wasn't exactly excited. However, someone gave it to me during last year's Secret Pumpkin. Thank you again!

To my surprise, I'm glad that this book was as enjoyable as it was. Even though it's like a Hallmark cut out story (I did catch a part of its telemovie on Hallmark a long time ago), but it's pure, simple and raw.

It doesn't attempt to do too much but gives out a lot anyway. The story is told in a straightforward manner, yet it manages to touch on deep emotions and themes. It makes you think about the importance of family, forgiveness, and second chances.

Overall, For One More Day is a heartwarming and inspiring read that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good book to curl up with on a rainy day.

This is a very touching book indeed.

So much of what the protagonist experiences truly strikes a chord deep within my heart. As I reached the last chapter, it brought tears to my eyes. Although I am not a parent, being a daughter myself, reading this book has gently and soothingly reminded me of the sacrifices that parents and caregivers make for their children.

The book is told in flashbacks, with each chapter usually being around two to three pages long, making it a quick and easy read. Despite the heavy content, by the end, I didn't feel emotionally burdened. Instead, I felt a little lighter. Just like the ghosts of our loved ones in our hearts, the story visited, reminded, and then left with a fond farewell. However, it will always remain, in some form or another, etched in my memory and heart.

It's a book that has the power to touch the souls of its readers and make them reflect on the deep and unconditional love that exists between parents and children.

Almost got me.

Well, one thing did.

It made me realize how much, when we are hurt, we sometimes end up hurting those who love us.

Sorry, Amma.

I'll admit that I did call my mom more often than usual.

Was it sweet? Yes.

Did I bawl? Nah.

I really liked Posey, though.

The ending reveal, however, fell flat for me.

Maybe I'm just cynical.

Mitch Albom is an author who has an extremely high standard to uphold. After achieving such remarkable bestsellers as TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE and THE FIVE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN HEAVEN, I eagerly opened my copy of FOR ONE MORE DAY, filled with anticipation and wondering if he would be able to create another masterpiece. The answer, without a doubt, is a resounding yes.

Albom honors mothers through the story of Charley "Chick" Benetto. Chick vividly recalls the words his father spoke to him when he was a young boy: "You can be a mama's boy or a daddy's boy. But you can't be both."

For the majority of his life, Chick dedicated himself to being a daddy's boy. Even though his father's love seemed out of reach, it was the one thing he constantly strived to obtain. It was only later that Chick, like everyone else, came to understand that love that is not freely given can never be earned, no matter how hard we might try.

When Chick's life takes a downward turn and leads to an attempted suicide, he is miraculously granted the very thing he has always desired since his mother's death eight years ago - the opportunity to spend one more day with a mother who loved him unconditionally, even when he didn't deserve it.

FOR ONE MORE DAY is not just the story of Chick, but even more so the story of his mother, Posey, a woman who sacrificed so much and endured more heartache than her children could ever imagine. And as Chick realizes that he made the wrong choice all those years ago in choosing to be a daddy's boy, he is also given the chance to forgive himself and, ultimately, become a better person.

This is an incredibly emotional and heartfelt read, every bit as excellent as Mr. Albom's previous works. In some recent articles I've come across, there have been negative comments about the author being "too sentimental" in his writings. All I can say in response to that is that when sentimentality becomes a crime, we are all in a very sorry state.

Second chances are indeed extremely rare in life.

We often find ourselves in situations where we make mistakes or miss opportunities, and then realize too late that we could have done things differently.

Regrets are truly awful. They can haunt us for years, making us feel guilty, sad, and frustrated.

We may constantly replay those moments in our minds, wondering what would have happened if we had made a different choice.

However, instead of dwelling on the past and being consumed by regret, we should try to learn from our mistakes and move forward.

Although second chances may be hard to come by, we should always be open to the possibility and do our best to make the most of any opportunity that comes our way.

After all, life is full of surprises, and there may be another chance waiting for us just around the corner.

We must have the courage to take risks and make changes, even if it means facing uncertainty and potential failure.

By doing so, we can avoid having more regrets in the future and live a more fulfilling life.

The pain of losing someone dear to us is truly excruciating and not everyone has the ability to handle it in a mature fashion. When Chick Benetto's mother succumbs to a heart attack, he unfortunately descends into alcoholism. This is quickly followed by him deserting his family and making three attempts at suicide, which are triggered by the fact that he wasn't invited to his daughter's wedding.

However, as Chick teeters on the brink between life and death, he is visited by his deceased mother and gets to have a day with her - a day that will once again turn his world completely upside down.

Chick has endured many losses in his life, including the shattering of his dream to become a highly successful and world-class baseball player. He is constantly in a grumpy state and always complaining, unaware that his difficulties might simply be a senseless rebellion against all things normal. As Chick spends time with his now departed mother, he discovers just how arduous her life was - a single, attractive woman living in a small town, working hard to send two kids through college while his father abandoned the family and never came back.

'For One More Day' is a tale about a family composed of ghosts but a family nevertheless. While Chick grapples with the choice between life and death, he realizes that his life might not actually be as overly dramatic as he had made it out to be.

The narration flows smoothly, making it extremely easy to immerse oneself in the story and experience all those emotions of despair, hope, struggles, and ultimately, redemption.
