Loved it although there were problems. I didn't know about the medical profile this was based on. During the first half I was intrigued by the atheist vs. believer dynamic and the way that McEwan painted the benefits and downfalls of both sides. The last half, especially the shooting, seemed rushed. Maybe he was going on vacation but overall this was one of the more refreshing works I have read in a while.

Good guide for exams, good on post-modernism, good on meta-textual stuff.

One of the best books I have read. It stayed with me for a long time and was my first introduction to his novels. Highly recommended.
