Completely focussed on the exam, every single line is designed to fetch you an extra mark in the exam. The book also has the depth which is on par with the questions on the exam.

I read Head First PMP, but it was more like an introductory text, after reading this text I understood that there is more to PMP i.e. depth wise!

This is a good book but it is jargon diahorrea, it is like everything is put into this book and dumped.

It is so confusing and so randomly mixed. At the end of it you are more confused than you have learned something. You will get something but then you are not sure what you have got!

You need to give up clarity to get one step forward towards the exam. I am not sure if it worth it.

One more thing about the book - You have to read it once, twice, thrice or more than thrice to just get a hang of it. if you only read it once, you would have gotten yourself more confused than ever.

But the book has its bright moments - as in when the book has these cute little pictures, diagrams and Tricks of Trade too!

Rita's PMP Exam Prep is a good second book (Head First PMP was a good first) for studying for the PMP exam. The exercises were good and really focused on helping you with the exam. I ran out of time before the exam so I skipped around a little to the areas I felt I was weakest in. I think it was a little more jargon (which you need also) than Head First so I'm glad I read the other one first to get the concepts.

Great book for prepping for the PMP exam. Highly recommended. I primarily used this book (not the PMBOK) to prep. Followed the suggestions, did the exercises, focused on learning processes (over memorization). Rita provides a blueprint on how to pass the exam, and it works!

Exhilarating read start to finish, especially if you appreciate stakeholder management, managing risk, and fulfilling organizational strategic values while delivering end-user value.

I am a better project manager for reading this. I would give it 3 more stars if it was even longer.

Great book for exam prep. Read the PMBOK chapter, then this and ot helped a lot. Plenty of great exam tips that help frame your mindset. Ignore her process chart because it doesn't match the PMI standard but great explanations overall. I passed on my first attempt with Above Target across all domains.

Last book of 2022. For those who are keen on taking the PMP certificate, this is a very comprehensive and useful book to acquire knowledge regarding project management with an traditional approach. Much better than PMBOK according to my POV

This was the 3rd and final book I used to study for the PMP exam. I originally bought it to study years ago and was put off by the negative tone and how daunting they make the test seem. While it is a huge endeavor to undertake, it is doable.

I recommend this book to anyone planning to sit for the PMP. It is an excellent resource that touches on points that other books do not. I would not recommend using this book only or only reading it once. The sheer volume of information needed to take and pass the test cannot be contained in a single read through of one resource.

This book has some of the best resources to use to study if you can get through the negative tone. Good Luck!
