Lectura en conjunto: Romi: 4⭐️, no la terminó de convencer el uso de muchas "y". Yuli: 4,5⭐️, me gustó mucho leer un cuento infantil del autor de "Fahrenheit 451", lo sentí muy lindo, tierno e ideal para compartir antes de dormir. Las ilustraciones de la edición son divinas.

A kids book by Ray Bradbury? Awesome. As a former outdoor educator and camp counselor, this book is perfect for prepping kids for night games or activities, or for those that have fears of the dark. Instead of switching off the light -- we switch ON the night!

A young boy is afraid of the dark and must have all the lights in the house on if possible. One night, when everyone else is gone, he turns every light in the house on. Then a young girl knocks on the door and introduces herself as Dark. Dark takes the boy by the hand and gently introduces him to the night and proves it's nothing to be afraid of.

Do not be afraid of the night, for it offers worlds of magic and wonder, of stars and constellations, of the sound of crickets and frogs... Beautiful story to read before going to bed. The girls want more by Bradbury :)

AWESOMEST BEDTIME STORY EVER!!!

Written by Ray Bradbury in 1955 during his wife's pregnancy, "Switch on the Night" is a charming and beautiful little children's book. It follows a young boy who doesn't like the night but who lobes lights. In the story, he encounters a girl named Dark who changes his mind. It's a simple but fun way to help kids who are afraid of the dark. Also the book has marvelous illustrarions by Leo and Diane Dillon that play with the perceptive of the scene, creating surreal, dreamlike rooms. Very M.C Escher like, who -surprise surprise- this book is dedicated to alongside Bradbury's children.

Seeing as how this is a children's book, which is not my favorite genre, I only rated it a four. However, one thing that I think would have made it a little more enjoyable was if it had leaned a bit more into the fantastical. The boy and Dark could have gone on some wonderful adventures, like in The Little Prince, but instead it was all pretty down to earth. Not really a criticism, more how I might have enjoyed it more. For a young kid, the wonder of crickets and the moon may very well be enough.

Es un cuento muy emotivo. Esta edición se complementa muy bien con las ilustraciones de Juan Marchesi.

Es un buen punto de entrada para incentivarla imaginación y la curiosidad por la lectura en personas de corta edad o en quienes quieren conocer sobre el trabajo de Bradbury.

Amo este cuento hermoso, que fue mio cuando era chica y que ahora es de mi hija. Lo hemos leido varias veces juntas antes de dormir.

A bedtime story as only Ray Bradbury could write. It's a good story for those among us who are afraid of the dark and it provides a unique perspective on what you can discover when you "Switch on the Night." The illustrations are a bit bizarre and surrealistic, but interesting nonetheless. Our girls liked this story, although they wonder why I won't let them play outside in the dark.
