If there's one book I could recommend to Millennials and Gen Z'ers interested in politics or current events... it is 100 this book. I learned so much-- I was only born in the 90s, and so much of what happened prior to that or even when I was a kid, the understanding is not there, and no Gen X'ers are really talking about it... I finally understand the "why" of radical Leftists. It makes so much sense now, and it's happening STILL, even right now with bills in Congress, they are trying to do the same things and the end goal is a Marxist utopia (which is impossible- but Leftists don't understand that). When you understand that the Left actually (in a warped way) may have benevolent intentions (but a really immature view of the ability to maintain one's own morality without God), then you start to be able to have this conversation a lot better. Highly, HIGHLY recommend. Also, I'm not generally good at history/politics/etc., but this book is really well written- it's pretty easy to follow. Great writers.

Fantastic account of how Soros either a) created his own organizations or b) infiltrated existing organizations (see Common Cause). Amazing.

My dad asked me to read this book because I didn't seem to agree with him that Obama was a "wolf in sheep's clothing". The book seems rife with conspiracy theory; it talks about some "shadow party" that is controlling the liberal establishment through what they depict as the liberal extremist George Soros. They create some loose connections between some extreme liberal activist in the 60s and 70s with Soros and his philanthropic organizations, and try to make the point that he is controlling the Democrat Party.

There are plenty of problems with the research done in the book. If you look up the quotes, there is a lot of mischaracterizations. This combined with the weak links make this for an awful batch of fear mongering and conspiracy theory.

The hate and inflammatory language in this book is a huge turn off. Books like this do nothing to help bridge the gaps in our understandings in society. Everything is spun to the side the authors want to provoke. It’s no different than Dark Money about the Koch Brothers and their plans to take over the right. I’m not saying some of this may not be true but the tone is what is helping make America an ugly place right now.

I was hoping for a well-executed, well-researched, balanced and pragmatic look at the facts and ideas. What I got was poorly-written, baseless propaganda. I have no particular love or favor for Hillary Clinton or George Soros, but even the way this is presented is sophomoric.

"Any journalist who has studied Soros with sufficient attentiveness has learned to greet his public utterances with an ounce of skepticism."

How wonderfully obtuse!

There is no such thing as repeated coincidences. David Horowitz has painstakingly shown the
sinister connections between George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Saul Alinsky, John Podesta, and a host of American institutions with very misleading names (American Friends Service Committee, Center for Community Change, National Welfare Rights Organization, Center for American Progress, America Votes, etc). That this book was written even before Obama's presidency shows how well Horowitz had predicted the future of the Democratic party. The "Shadow party" only believes in self-interest and personal aggrandizement at the cost of common citizens. Its not just America - the whole world needs to wake up to this nexus!

Must read!

This book contains information, quotes, and connections between George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Saul Alinsky, George Wiley, John Podesta,Cloward and Piven, Wade Rathke, ACORN, American Friends Service Committee, Center for Community Change, La Raza, National Welfare Rights Organization, SEIU, Tides Foundation, Shadow Conventions, MoveOn.org, Center for American Progress, America Votes, G.S.'s Open Society, and others.

The information and connections about and between these individuals and groups is very interesting. Much of their strategies are stated in their own words in books and recorded interviews (not with the authors).

The part I don't like is the tone which is echoed in the Goodreads review, "America is under attack. Its institutions and values are under daily assault. But the principal culprits are not foreign terrorists. They are influential and powerful Americans secretly stirring up disunion and disloyalty in the shifting shadows of the Democratic Party." Sounds like a sinister conspiracy theory. Maybe the authors do that to catch readers' interest and capitalize on fear, but it makes it easy to dismiss using Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.

I do think the book is worth reading as it holds information regarding the shift of the Democratic Party, strategies of powerful Democrats, and the influence of money as it relates to Democratic Party issues. It is unfortunate that the masses of people are willing to vote for the candidate that will promise them the most. The candidates are backed financially by powerful groups that they are beholden to--favors are returned with legislation and public (tax payer) money.

My own thoughts:
We need term limits to lessen the influence of special interests, but the Senators and Representatives will never pass that. We need to keep money and power away from the federal government and return it to the states and localities. We are going in the wrong direction. I hope people will read about the issues contained in this book and will fight for these things.

This book pulls the mask off someone who does not get a lot of media attention but who really should, because he has a huge impact on contemporary politics. Oligarch George Soros has bought the Democrat party, and made it into a nasty group of lockstep ideologues who are working tirelessly to undermine constitutional government and rule of law. The agenda is to wipe America off the map and create a global hegemony that will enslave humanity in an unparalleled manner. Soros's hands all over the 2020 election: he has a history of tampering in other countries to topple "dictators," which are just patriots who stand up for their country against the globalist elites. Soros uses shock troops on the ground and bribery at the top, as well as propaganda to confuse people about who really is legitimate. The people who win the election are, according to the media blitz Soros wages, the insurrectionists. This sort of radical rhetoric, that we are in "danger" and there is a "coup" taking place, began just as Soros, with his acolyte Hillary Clinton, made the Democrat party into the criminal organization it is today.
