Se complica la situación del país, se complica la situación familiar, se complica por la edad y rebeldía que empieza a emanar de la protagonista.
Me deja sin palabras como puede explicar y transmitir tanto en unas viñetas.

Marji no es tan simpática como en el primer tomo, y es que en este tomo la niña se va tornando mujer. Atraviesa la pubertad, y con ello llega la rebeldía, me encantaron los guiños a Iron Maiden y la cultura Punk, incluso mencionan a Michael Jackson, finalmente, destaco la hipocresía moral de los fundamentalistas islámicos y sus ridículas imposiciones hacia todo lo que condenan, el machismo es tan absurdo, que incluso llevar el pelo suelto es pecado. En teoría ir al baño también es pecado.
El final te toca el relojito, es muy triste, el cómic logra transmitir todas las emociones que sugieren sus paginas.

Este segundo tomo me ha gustado bastante más que el primero que es más introductorio, en este la historia se torna mucho más cruda y oscura, me ha gustado mucho, después de este si que le tengo verdaderas ganas al siguiente tomo. Aunque es verdad que a pesar de todo pienso que una historia como esta se vería mejor en una novela, daría lugar a darte más detalles políticos sobre los sucesos, pero eso es algo completamente personal, ya que soy consciente de que el haberlo hecho así tiene unos objetivos concretos.

Loved this volume also, but I think the first volume was my favorite. The combination of sparse text with the pictures is haunting. The tale she tells of her time in Europe was heartbreaking -- no wonder she felt lost and confused. Then the description of her time back in Iran was frustrating -- the madness of the regime and its rules is almost comic. And her departure to France at the end leaves me hanging -- what happens next?! The biggest bummer is that now I am hooked on this series but the other volumes have not been translated into English! What am I going to do?! I guess I'm going to have to learn to read French.

En el segundo tomo Marjane tiene de 12 a 14 años, la preadolecencia es muy extraña cuando los varones se alistan en el ejercito por obligación y nuestra protagonista presencia la invertidumbre entre la guerra con iraq y la guerra interna por el regimen.
Al final del dia su crianza y el impetu propio de la juvetud la han convertido en una chica incapaz de disimular lo suficiente para pasar desapercibida, Su mejor oportunidad para sobrevivir es marcharse.

I read the first one last year and I fall in love with the story that after reading it, I couldn't stop talking about it. This biographic novels let me speechless, they are a most read to all the girls who feel like they don't belong, the ones that are immigrants, to the ones who are insicure of themselves, the ones who care about politics, the ones who care about feminism, the ones who care about human rights. You truthly learn to see life in a different way after this.

2017 Popsugar reading challenge #28. Un libro que suceda durante la guerra.

Me ha gustado más que el primer volumen. Definitivamente esta historia deja mucho en que pensar.

After I read Vol 1 I couldn't wait to read Vol 2. Well, and it did not disappoint me. I love Marjane's way of putting things forth. You can identify and relate yourself when she is evolving as a person. Your heart always belongs where home is but you always cannot have what you want. Her character is so bold and strong and I like that she fearlessly speaks her mind.

Me sigue encantando la forma en la cual la autora sigue reflejando el impacto de la guerra en toda una cultura, así en la forma de ver y sentir de las personas.

Estos libros destrozan, eh? Ufff.
