The last two days I've put off writing a review for this ridiculous story. Third in the Shopaholic series, this is the weakest, and I'm not saying I liked the first two either, but this one was far worst of the lot, so far.

The main character, Becky Bloomwood doesn't have a back bone in her body, she's not likable, she's all about designer labels, a spend thrift (and why it's called Shopaholic), lies constantly, gets herself into huge dilemmas that would be impossible to get out of because she is unable to confront the issues from the beginning, and can't seem to compose a sentence without struggling or saying "er". It was frustrating to read!

So, she gets engaged and I can't figure that one out. They seem so wrong for one another. Actually I think Becky is so selfish and immature that she isn't ready for marriage, heck even a relationship. It's not like her & Luke are ever on the same page and they don't communicate with one another. They are never there for the other and choose to work alone to fix their own problems they are going through. I think Becky is the worst offender of the two, because as least Luke finally did come to Becky, but there still wasn't much of an effort on either of their part (but somehow it worked out. Very weak indeed.)

Her very wealthy, snobby, mother-in-law hires a wedding planner, but Becky's mum is also planning her wedding, back home in England....on the same day. We are stuck reading, more like I was trying so hard not to ripe out my eyes for 3/4 of the book as Becky got deeper and deeper into making excuses and lying because she didn't have the balls, guts, strength, back bone to step up and decide where she wanted her wedding.

For someone who loves to shop, Becky took no part in her planning her own wedding. For the US wedding, it was the NYC wedding planner. For her England wedding, it was her Mum. What she does is, spends all her time trying to cover up her lies, and not let others know about her two separate weddings in two countries. I get it, it's supposed to be funny, but seriously, it wasn't. I kept wanting to scream.

A few parts made me laugh, but overall, this could had been written differently and could had been a better story...maybe.

Spoiler alert: So even though she totally screws up and makes matters impossible to ever fix (in real life), it all works out in the end.

I have one more Shopaholic book in my bookcase. That will be my last read in this series. It's gonna kill me to read it, so I'm going to put it off for a while, a long while.

Short Review: This was by far my favorite of this series. This was less focused on her spending habits and more focused on her growing as a character and i loved seeing that. I just loved how this book played out. I didn't see how she was gonna get out of her biggest issue, but I'm so glad it all worked out in the end, and I'm really excited to see how this turns out next! I also need more Baby Ernesto and Suze! I miss them in this book, although Suze was taking charge in this book! I like that side of her :)

Becky's wedding drama (endlessly dragged out) wasn't quite as funny as her shopaholic tendencies in the first 2 books. But I still enjoyed this one!

“OK. Now, I may be engaged, but I'm not going to get carried away.”

Okay so, first of all, I now also want a 100 000 $ worth princess/forest wedding with a Sleeping Beauty theme (although I was always more of a Cinderella gal), second of all I love Becky so much that I just want everything good in the world to happen to her. Like, she literally feels like a dear girlfriend to me, and I want all the best for her. It is unfortunate that she finds herself in so many complicated situations, and this time I really thought getting out was impossible, even for her. This one had me held my breath until the end xD.

This is the first book in the series I don't rate 5 stars, not because I didn't like it but because I feel like something is missing now that the focus is not on the shopping addiction anymore. I mean, I know it's quite silly to expect a 9-book series to go on about the same topics over and over again, but I just identified more with the old Becky and I found the gags more entertaining (the first two books had me laughing out loud, this one was more quietly funny).

But this one had me dreaming about weddings, and cakes, and tiaras and Tiffany and honestly it was so glamourous I just had a good time anyway! This series is quickly becoming an all-time favourite. I can't believe I didn't even know there were more books after Confessions!

Life has been good for Becky Bloomwood: She’s become the best personal shopper at Barneys, she and her successful entrepreneurial boyfriend, Luke, are living happily in Manhattan’s West Village, and her new next-door neighbor is a fashion designer! But with her best friend, Suze, engaged, how can Becky fail to notice that her own ring finger is bare? Not that she’s been thinking of marriage (or diamonds) or anything . . . Then Luke proposes!

Ugh, why can't Becky and I be friends in real life? And damn, life has been very good for her. Living in West Village is a DREAM of mine and she has a dream job and has a successful boyfriend/fiance AND has a friend who is a designer... can I please be her?

Yes, Luke's mom can be a bitch but she's a rich bitch so it's allowed... especially when she is trying to throw you a wedding that is to top all weddings.

Right now in my life I am in engagement/wedding fantasy because I actually have a boyfriend I like haha so I really enjoyed this book. Typical Becky Bloomwood messes that make you laugh.

Such an easy light read, closed door romcom series. CDRM or RC at all aren’t my fave genre, however, with it being summer and the kids home from school I just need a break from my usual faves and I’m loving this series. Sophie Kinsella is maybe my fave author so far for these palette cleansers because there’s humor without trying too hard, the romance is minimal, and the storyline more so follows the main character and her journey, always well written, a sprinkle of anticipation, yet light enough not to interrupt your day if you need to pick it up and put it down. Maybe the best part… it’s an older series so it’s always available for immediate digital download via our library. Which makes it so much easier to book hop and binge.

I feel like we are three books in and I am dying to see more growth from this character. But what will become of the series if she changes her shopaholic ways?

My least favourable Shopoholic book so far.

Becky is stuck having 2 weddings and she have to decide which one she want the most and still manage to make everyone happy.

It is an ok read but the story wasn't as funny as the previous ones and throughout the whole book Becky just keep avoiding confrontation and whining. Very little plot material for this one.

I still can't get the chemistry between Luke and Brandon. They are vastly different. Yeah u can say opposite attract but I still can't see how they fit in each other's life
