Καιρό είχα να διαβάσω Σόφι Κινσέλα και τώρα ήθελα ένα σπιρτόζικο ρομάντζο, το ξεκίνησα και 14 Φλεβάρη - νομίζω ξεκάθαρα φαίνεται με τι είμαι ερωτευμένη ❤️

Novel ini bikin saya tertawa terbahak-bahak dr awal hingga akhir. Bayangkan saja Becky tdk bisa memutuskan mau menikah di The Plaza, Amerika atau di Oxshott, Inggris. Selain itu sifat tidak enak hati yg dimiliki Becky nyaris jadi bumerang bagi dirinya. Tapi bukan Becky namanya kalau tidak bisa mengubah bencana menjadi berkat yg menguntungkan dirinya. Pesan moral dari novel ini sudah jelas, Jangan pernah bosan berbuat baik terhadap kerabat, pertolongan yg kita berikan tidak akan pernah sia-sia jika dilakukan dgn tulus dan tanpa mengharapkan imbalan.

Becky Bloomwood has her dream job as a personal shopper at Barney's and is living with her successful boyfriend, Luke Brandon. She has everything she could want...or so she thinks until she attends her best friend's wedding. When Luke pops the question, she is unreservedly excited about getting married and regestering for her gifts. When both mother's get involved in the wedding planning, Becky ends up in a mess that involves two very different weddings, on two different contntents on the same day! How will she manage to choose?

I read book one and enjoyed it. I read book two and liked it, ok. I wanted to see how she gets engaged and married in this book and I wish I had saved my time. She contiues her spanding problems and never seems to learn from her issues. She selfishly continues the plans for both weddings, even though she knows it will be hurtful. When she comes up with a(n implausilbe) solution, I was annoyed by how easily she walzted in to get all she wanted. Don't waste your time.

Ho un problema con la protagonista: non la sopporto per la maggior parte del tempo. Problema non da poco, visto che mi impedisce di simpatizzare con lei delle sue disavventure.
I miei problemi con lei sono principalmente due: la spensieratezza con cui spende i soldi del conto cointestato per i suoi futili acquisti, ma soprattutto la sua incapacità di partecipare in maniera attiva alle decisioni importanti della sua vita. Credo che Becky sia protagonista attiva del romanzo soltanto verso la fine delle stesso. L'unica cosa in cui è brava è incasinarsi la vita mentendo e straparlando.

L'unica lancia a favore di questo libro è la presenza di qualche piccolo momento genuinamente divertente e il fatto, che a parte un serio problema con lo shopping (come uno può presagire dal titolo della serie), non sono presenti cattivi messaggi, rendendo questo libro un tranquillo romanzo con cui poter trascorrere una giornata.

I didn't devour this third novel quite as voraciously as I did the second, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Shopaholic series! On to the next one!

The usual case is romance stories end with the joining together of hero and heroine. Its all "happily ever after" that follows. As our matrimonial sites show (only applicable to arranged marriage system countries), the main expense/trouble is to find the bride or groom. But could the wedding itself be problematic - after all the hardships of reaching the altar? That is what this third novel in the shopaholic series is about. As someone has once said, "marriages are enjoyable,... if they are someone else's".

I won’t pretend this series is good literature but 10-year old me thought it was life changing. 23-year old me loves the memories it brings back.

Weer een leuk verhaal over Becky en Luke. Hoewel ik het midden wat langdradig vond, zit het verhaal wel leuk in elkaar. Grappig hoe alles uiteindelijk toch op z'n pootjes terecht komt.

En wat ben ik benieuwd naar deel 4; in dit deel wordt onthuld waar deel 4 over gaat en dit heeft mij erg nieuwsgierig gemaakt!

I am not sure what to think about this book and the previous ones. I find 70% of it boring and stupid, but the end of every book is good.
I am with mixed fillings and I am not sure whether I will continue to read the rest of the series.

I am in love with this book. Its my favourite one in the series (so far)

Becky is in a predicament (again!) But this time its not her fault (well, not completely).

Luke proposes to her with the help of Suze (world's greatest friend, honestly) and its insanely cute. But then things go south for both of them.

Luke is having a hard time accepting the truth about his mother and has a mid-life crisis.

Becky is torn between the two weddings being planned for her - one by her mother, in England, and the other by her mother-in-law, in America. Unable to pull out from either of them, not being able to confide in anyone, even Luke who is going through a very difficult time, Becky really pulls through this time. Instead of hiding away from her problems until its too late, she takes charge and manages to have 2 seamless (almost) weddings.

In this book, I really got to the see the vulnerable and loving side of Luke which made him more real. They way he handles the situation with Alicia, even though he has no clue what is going on, really shows the trust he has in his bride-to-be.

And the way Becky smoothens things between Luke and his mother even though she hates her, to make sure he doesn't get hurt again, shows the love she has for him.

My favourite moment in the book was when Luke turns a pirouette to demonstrate that he will "always be on his toes" around Becky. It was the sweetest moment of Luke yet as it brought out the funny and charming side of him.

Overall, a wonderful read!

Ps: I wish the second wedding had been described as well.

And there had been atleast a chapter about how they made up, in the beginning.

Really enjoyed this one. Much better than #1 and #2 in my opinion.
