This was my first Marian Keyes book, so I haven't read the others about the Walsh sisters. I think I have a hard time getting into a lot of books, it usually takes the first 100 pages before I care about the book. Once I hit the turning point in the novel (around chapter 25) it was un-put-down-able. Seriously, I read the majority of the book on Sunday afternoon (about 300 pages).

I enjoy Anna, there is a lot that I can relate to about her under the surface. She is a PR Account Executive, I've worked in the PR field (not on the account side) for about five years and the things she would complain about made me giggle because I could totally see it.

Watching Anna remember February 16th was heartbreaking, watching her recovery would break my heart one minute and have me laughing out loud the next page. Definitely a good read, now I think I need to read Watermelon so I can experience more of the other Walsh sisters. Only Helen and Rachel were discussed a lot in Anybody Out There?

As much as it pains me to say this... It´s sooo bad! She tries something halfway between funny and tragic, and manages to do neither, which is sad.

Why I will never read this book. The verdict is in.

As I wandered down to my local coffee shop the other morning, I couldn’t help noticing a little pile of books somebody had put on the footpath, part of a clearing up. A motley collection, if ever I saw one, was my professional assessment.

Over the next couple of days the pile got smaller. Somebody took the book on ’Twenty-two ways to improve the feng shui of your lavatory.’ And ‘Things you can do with bonsai plants if you have a front loader.’ Even the Booker Prize winner went missing. Eventually all that was left was Marian Keyes Anybody Out There? Apparently not, Marian. Apparently not.

This is a story about one of the Walsh sisters. There are five sisters in this Irish family that Marian Keyes has written several books about. This one is about Anna. It begins with her in in Ireland at her parents' home, although we find out early that she lives in New York and is here recovering. We also know that she misses Aidan very much and that she feels she must recover from her injuries quickly so that she can get back to New York to find him. What we do not know is what happened to her or where Aidan has gone. Her family does not want her to go back and tries to protect her from whatever is waiting for her there. Anna has to face the past in order to move on though. The story is told in flashbacks and is touching and funny. The Walsh family had me laughing out loud, while the Anna's story had me in tears. I highly recommend this title as I enjoyed it very much. If you like this book, try Keyes' other novels about the Walsh's.

Skim read a LOT of this as it dragged so much. Skipped all the emails from Helen and all the work stuff. Glad I stuck with it as I liked the end but I wish some editor had had a conversation with Marian about the length of this and the unnecessary storylines.

Anna Walsh is back in her parent’s house in Dublin, recovering from a terrible accident and thinking about her return to New York and reuniting with her husband Aidan.

This is the fourth book in the Walsh series and so far, it’s my favorite one. Anna has always been a bit of a kooky sister, along with Helen, but we see a tamed back version of her here a few years after Angel, with a job in beauty PR, a husband and a successful life in New York.

Now we see how Anna is shattered and needing to build herself back up with a new reality and while this book is quite heartbreaking at times, it’s also laugh out loud funny. I genuinely think I will be using the term ‘feathery stroker’ for a certain kind of man for the rest of my life now and now love to identify feathery strokers in real life or books. I also really enjoyed seeing Rachel in this book and how far she has come since her own book Rachel’s Holiday. I’m already looking forward to reuniting with Anna in My Favorite Mistake.

Kind of a weepy girl book. I had a hard time being convinced that their relationship was so amazing and am pretty sure that had this been a real couple, it would have seemed so great simply because she'd only been with the guy for a year and half - fully still within the infatuation stage. But still - the feelings are there regardless of the reasons for them, and it didn't keep me from emphasizing with her entirely.

I also felt like Keyes tried a little too hard to be cutesy, especially in the first part of the book when describing the woman's family. For example, I had enough of the "Greatest Job in the World (TM)" garbage by the end of the first chapter. She toned it down for the second half of the book, though, which made it much more bearable.

Anyway, not a terrible read for the beach or a plane ride. But not winning any awards any time soon, either.

This book fuelled my love for Keyes!
I remember balling my eyes out crying and honestly feeling the loss that this character was experiencing whole heartedly.
I never expected the twists. So beautifully written!

Marian Keyes is one of those authors who is so ridiculously popular that I suppose it was only a matter of time until I finally gave in and gave one of her books a try, never mind that I don't care for the genre much. This was... fine, I guess. I enjoyed the writing, but I'd have been fine with the book being half as long - after a while, I just got tired of all the silly obnoxious people being silly and obnoxious.

Marian Keyes just doesn't have the "cool" factor as an author.
This story would have been ok had it been condensed onto 1/3 of the pages and really what were those hideous emails from her ridiculous mother about.. they didn't add to the story at all.
A really dumb read.

"El gran punto fuerte de esta novela es el misterio que rodea a la relación de la protagonista con su marido. Al principio no se sabe qué ha ocurrido exactamente para que ella esté en la situación en la que está y esa intriga hace que avanzar en la lectura sea fácil. El punto negativo de la historia es que se alarga más de la cuenta y que no combina del todo bien el drama y el humor".
