This book is about vampirers trying to fight the vanpaneze. They even have vanpaneze pets to go out for them to find out where the vanpirers are trying to hide from them. And the vampaneze pets go back and tell the vampaneze where the vampires are thats if they can even find the vampires. the vampires and the vampaneze are always fighting. The vampires are usually always beating the vampaneze in their fights that they have. I think they choose darren to be prince.

Darren finally gets to leave vampire mountain but the conditions aren't exactly the most cheerful. The intrigue continues. It's nice the the reader is informed as to how much time has passed since we last saw Darren in the previous book and the author does a relatively good job of again showing how Darren's mindset is changing into more of an adult and having to cope with some changes to himself as well as the possibility of becoming full vampire, which only adds to his already chaotic life thus far. The reader gets to meet some new characters as well as getting to reminisce with old ones from the first book and Darren gets to see his old home with older eyes.

The adventure continues and the reader is taken to new haunts and old. Dark and interesting while maintaining some humor and a fun adventure.

“He fled to save the life of the man he was protecting -the fake servant- the…”

Imagine that you have been stuck in a mountain for six years serving as a vampire prince, working with generals to defeat your enemies, the vampaneze. One day, out of the blue, you have been chosen to defeat the vampaneze by taking out their lord. If you don't hunt, you and every vampire in existence will die. If you do, you risk dying, or living to see the world fall apart. Either way, each sides will shed tears and by weakened. Your chance of living is slim. What will you do? Will you risk your life to save the vampire clan, or die in shame?
In Cirque Du Freak: Hunters of the Dusk, Darren Shan, Vancha March, and Mr. Crepsley hunt for their arch-nemesis, The Vampaneze Lord. Like almost every other book in the series, this one has no conclusion. If this book didn't have the twentieth chapter, the last one, maybe it would've ended on a much better note, leaving a slight cliffhanger so you want to read the next.
The plot in this book was quite scattered around. It wasn't too much of a problem, but a couple of details were missing, I'm saying for the second or third book in a row that there wasn't much of a ‘story to it’ the author sped through the book instead of taking his time and including some more adjectives and adverbs so I can get to know the story more than I did.
Unlike the first books, I felt more like a spectator than a character. Like in soccer, instead of playing on the field with them, I was sitting on the sidelines watching them play. I guess you could also compare the Cirque Du Freak series to a glass of soda, the more ice you add to it, the more watered down it gets. You'll love it the first time, but now it is tainted a little bit.
This book does have its fair share of humor, I can't just ignore that. There is one person in particular who I absolutely enjoyed, probably because he was new to the series. Vancha March. He has a sense of slapstick humor more than anything. I mean, he is a guy who lives in the wild and only showers during rainfall. Who doesn't find that a little funny?
Overall, I think this book is a 3.5 out of 5. Last time, I was generous enough to give it a four. In Hunters of the Dusk, I'm going to have to give it a three. It wasn't as great as the last book, but it has the same 3.5 rating. This book didn't have a conclusion, unlike last book (which is probably the second in the series to have one). Enough with the chitter chatter, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Now, sure I hyped it up at the beginning, but that was the only awesome part of it.
I hope the eighth one is better.

So I’m really enjoying listening to these books!! Darren Shan is growing up and becoming a much more dynamic character. I just love reading about his adventures even when the real action begins at the end of the book.

I recommend listening to these via audiobook. The narrator is good and has a nice soothing voice. Each time I finish one of these, I want to start on the next one immediately. Still keeping these reviews short because I have so many more to read!!!!

This one was definitely my favorite so far. The part where Vancha said, "Unarmed? I have two arms!" had me rolling with laughter.

Were heading for the end game now whooo!

This was a pretty good book. There was another time skip at the beginning but considering this is a story that spans a long amount of time, it doesn’t bother me.
Darren finally is looking older! Altho he’s still the Boy Prince to the other vampires (cuz he a youngin) he’s finally got the physical growth he’d been denied after blooding.
I didn’t realize that when he first got blooded he was like.. 12? That explains a lot about his behavior at the beginning. Altho that brings into question just what did Larten see in a 12 yr old boy that caused him to blood him? Was it the puppet strings of destiny? Who knows

Darren Shan had gone back to Vampire Mountain after he ran away from being put to the Halls of Death. He had became a prince when he went back to Vampire Mountain. Him, Mr.Crepsley, and another vamipre had to go and stop the vampaneze lord. They wanted to go and kill the vampaneze lord before he comes to takes over the vampire clan. So Darren and the other vampires have to go and stop the vampaneze lord before he gets fully blooded. But, only the 3 vampires and anything besides vampires could go after the vampaneze lord. So later on, they found a group of vampaneze and Darren was spying on them knew there was a vampaneze lord. Then Darren, Crepsley, Harkat (the little person), and Vancha ambushed them and killed all but Vancha's brother and a Vampet who was just with them, but that someone was the Vampaneze Lord! This book is about technique, hope, and confidence.

3.5 ✨ for this 7th book written by Darren Shan.

The adventure continues with Darren and his companions, this time towards finding the Vampaneze Lord.

An interesting new character appears on the way, Vancha March. He is a vampire prince and has an interesting past that we find out at the end of the book, as a twist.

Also we have the witch. Not sure how I feel about her, but she gave me a Lestrange vibe from Harry Potter books. I like her story and the legend that revolves around her.

The end left me wanting for more. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

*minor spoilers*

Now that the Vampire Mountain arc is basically finished, Darren, Crepsley, and Harkat are back on their own now. Probably the best thing about this installment for me was that they decide to revisit the Cirque. And you know what that means…revisiting Evra Von!! Evra is all grown up now, with a wife and children. It’s enough to get you choked up. In the timespan of the book, it’s literally been about twelve years since Darren last saw Evra. I try to think about what it would be like right now, to see someone again that I last saw twelve years ago (when I was in eighth grade or a freshman in high school). Twelve years is a LONG time! You have to have a serious strong friendship with someone to have had a memory of them and a passion for seeing them again after twelve years have passed. I don’t remember or care about the people I knew a dozen years ago.
