First time I have ever read a Sherlock Holmes story. Not what I was expecting by way of narration.

Here Sherlock Holmes investigates the mysterious death of Sir Charles Baskerville.

I don't read much mystery but I like this. It was simply a little predictable. I liked being on Watson's side and how he researched things out.

A classic and must read for anyone who calls themselves a mystery fan.

Read this as a kid. Probably my first experience getting scared on reading a book ! Classic!

Each story of Sherlock Holmes is wonderful!

I loved reading this as much as I did as a kid :)

Gripping, chilling, with a shady cast of characters. John Watson takes centre stage here for a change. The denouement is great.

Sherlock Holmes is investigating a Doctor James Mortimer who left behind a beautiful walking cane. He received that cane when he married. He wants the help of Sherlock Holmes. Hugo Baskerville took by force a beautiful young lady but she escaped. Hugo then turned his hounds to find her but when they were found she was on the ground and Hugo was dead with a massive hound like creature gnawing at his neck. Search Charles Baskerville went for a walk and never came back. The next of kin is Henry Baskerville son of Sir Charles younger brother, the new heir. Sir Charles was haunted by a giant hound that he supposedly saw. Sir Henry received a warning letter. The Notting Hill murderer escaped from prison. Sir Henry in the house heard a crying of a woman in the night. the Grimpen Mire is an area on the moor that will suck anything into it. The Baron that has asked miss Stapleton to marry him. Mr. Barrymore is sending signals from a window to his brother the convict that escaped and Watson sees the shadow of a man at the Moor. The Stapleton‘s are truly husband and wife. Apparently they find sir Henry of Baskerville laying dead on the ground. The giant hound is seen running towards sir Henry when Holmes shoots it in the flank and dies. It was Mr Stapletons hound all along. He wanted the money and the estate and he was a Baskerville he was Sir Charles youngest brother. That warning letter to sir Henry came from Mrs. Stapleton

A great story about the great Sherlock Holmes' adventures. They are always provocative and well written. I recommend them to all.

This is one of the very few Sherlock Holmes tales I could not really get in to.
