The classic Holmes, though it was written a little later in the canon. Wonderful characterisation; Conan Doyle was at the top of his game when he created this one!
Beware the hound, sure, but Even more the woman who, today, Resists the butterfly net. Who, Yesterday, wrote with scissors. Who, tomorrow, will Let love go free and far, far away.
This is of course the classic Holmes. It was what started it all, as such it has a special place in the canon. The descriptions are wonderful while not being too much.
