Definitely a good plan. It has helped me realize some of the places where I was wasting my money and helped me eliminate most all of my debt. Consider this book before going to those "debt elimination" services.

This book is great for beginners that just want to learn what options are out there. This book provides a detailed description of loan options in easy to understand terms. This book is perfect for everyone to read before embarking on any home ownership transactions.

Incredibly well written, easily digestible and full of insightful ways of thinking—this book is by far the best source of knowledge for the “soon-to-be” homeowner and/or landlord/real estate investor.

I started reading this book to get an edge and a first step into my real estate investing journey. After completing it, not only do I feel monumentally more prepared but much more excited as well.

This book has given me the confidence to go after it as a young investor and has been a great read and successfully been the fasted book I’ve ever finished! I simply couldn’t put it down!

David Bach's very simple concepts of savings, applied to investment in real estate. A great book for anyone who is almost ready to start looking for a house but still has fear that it's an unreachable or dangerous endeavour.

I read this just out of college, and it gave me some great ideas. It is a realistic approach to how an "average Joe" can get ahead and become a multi-property owner in his/her lifetime. Very doable! :)

Laughably out of date, but I knew that was going to be an issue going in. Principles are presented clearly, though I think putting them into practice (especially after 2008) is going to be extraordinarily difficult.

This book was fantastic and I recommend anyone looking at buying a new home to read it to become educated. Since I have already been through the home-buying process, I knew a lot of what the book was explaining, however, I did still learn a lot of information that I can use in the next time I purchase a home. Although I would rather be rich now and this book, along with the rest of his Finish Rich series, is in hopes of preparing you to plan for your future retirement years and years down the road, David Bach provides low risk opportunities for investing. In the situation I am in right now and the way the economy is, reading this book just comforted me on making the right decisions and reminded me why I bought my home in the first place. As many people know, Garrett and I have a love/hate relationship with our home and as we sweat over maintaining a nice living space and area, it will be worth it later in life when we can 'finish rich.'

Another very basic book. It does offer some specific tips (for example, to ask for the application fee back from your lender if your mortgage is approved), but it can be summarized on something that goes like this:
- Never rent, but rather buy a home (and once you get another home, don't sell the first one)
- With home appreciation, refinance in a few years, and take equity out to buy another one

The book was written before the real estate market crash of 2008/2009, and does not really address two of the main implicit assumptions it makes, and that not always hold true: that real estate prices will go up, and that you can refinance at a similar rate when you get equity out of your home

Mostly basic advice.

-Prequalified is not as good as pre approved
-shop around for mortgages
-Lots or different financing options (you can google these But new one I learned of is piggy back mortgage so you can put less money out of pocket)
-pay an extra mortgage payment per year to pay off 30 year loan 5-7 years (he recommends setting up biweekly payments which is same outcome).
-Leverage your way to wealth
