funny read. but, i am unlikely to use it as a reference.

An ok guide to non toxic ways to clean your home. A lot of it is kind of obvious (buy non-toxic cleaners). I was looking for some more home grown style advice. Worth checking out from the library though.

So I finally realized I was not going to really read this book (as in cover to cover). It's very interesting and informative, but it is still a manual on housework. So instead I bought it, to have as reference. (Well I actually bought "Green Housekeeping" a newer version by the same author. I do recommend it to others. It's not just about being green, some very practical tips to make cleaning easier and more productive.

Entertaining book with lots of good ideas and suggestions for more environmentally friendly housekeeping.

So I feel like a bit of a fuddy duddy for reading about housekeeping, but I feel so informed when I finish a chapter and cleaning the bathroom is so much easier now.

The most interesting thing about this book was the homemade beauty products. I will try a few things from this book, but a lot of the book seemed to drag on way too much.

Great, practical, fun, informative. I am getting more and more radical in my options regarding my family lifestyle. I don't like to clean, organize, etc, but if I can find a reason, more than just clean, like health, lifestyle, sustainability then it makes sense. I am looking at the footprint I am leaving on earth... I used to make fun of friends who said that... and here I am!!
Great book, it just makes sense!

This book is essential for anyone who wants to stop using chemical cleaners and products in their home, but doesn't have a clue where to start. After borrowing it from the library, I bought a copy of it to keep on hand as an extremely helpful reference guide. Who knew vinegar was so useful?

Fairly easy to read, good ideas, pretty clear on why and how.

Reading this as an on-going project to be a little more eco-conscious and to live a purer lifestyle. The book offers some practical advice and good perspective on how to maintain a healthy, clean home. Seems like I will save some time and money in the process, Bonus! I am impressed that the information in this book also reaches past the bounds of "Housekeeping" and provides seemingly sound advice about a variety of subjects such as recycling and gardening.

A collection of ideas for doing all kinds of housekeeping ... from cleaning silver, to washing windows, to getting rid of lice ... without any toxic chemicals and with as little impact on the environment as possible.

It is fun to read (fun, relaxed writing style that doesn't feel 'preachy') and has practical advice on a huge variety of subjects (and a pretty good index). She makes it seem so easy.
