I loved this. I always considered this a trilogy so I will only read the next book - Anne of the Island and then I won't continue for the advice of a goodreads reviewer who said so.

« I’d like to add some beauty to life. I don’t exactly want to make people know more - though I know that is the noblest ambition - but I’d love to make them have a pleasanter time because of me - to have some little joy or happy thought that would never have existed if I hadn’t been born.
- I think you’re fulfilling that ambition every day »

I don’t think I could ever trust someone who disliked this classic. It was one of the sweetest thing I’ve ever read. Anne is so cute… I cried quite a few times. I loved this story very very much ❤️

I've never loved a book as much as I love this one! Anne of Green Gables is surely one of a kind, a masterpiece by Lucy Maud Montgomery that can't be easily forgotten. Anne's character is just loveable and her value on friendship is heart-warming. She really is a kindred spirit. Through this book I've been inspired so many times, not only by Anne but also by the other amazing characters. One thing that means the most to me is how Anne's dedication and hard work at everything she does inspired me to be just like her.

The first time these pages hit my face I was magnanimously THRILLED with delight. My senses were awakened! How can that be? What providence set the brain to experience these chapters like a vital understanding? How glorious the presentation of Spring, or the rhythm of contained exuberance in a child. Every word is careful, well loved and meaningful. An Anne book was my introduction to ‘cordiality.’ I began writing down all her adjectives and have pages of the variety ending in “ly.” More than a decade later, I come back to my roots. Finishing the first to pick up the second with every translated emotion reflected back into the world as gratitude and appreciation anew.

This a book that I first read in 2nd grade and then closely followed y 95% of anything else she wrote. I I have read this so many times its ahrd to count. I adore Anne and Gilbert and love to relieve there romance and Anne's hijinks over and over. I movies are incredible event he third which doesn't follow the books.
