a Favorite author

Robert Ludlum Value Collection of Little Value:
I did not do my research before purchasing this collection of 3 Bourne abridged stories before purchasing. These are very abridged, lacking the depth of story line and characters I've come to enjoy in reading the original novels in the '80s and '90s. Overly dramatic narration & presentation with distracting background music. Of no value to this listener.

i keep meaning to read all three of these just for my fix of great writing and classic espionage ;)

So I loved these books! If you have seen the movies and you liked them you should definately read the books. They are much better than the movie and the story line is actually quite different. Another author picked up the Jason Bourne character and kept writing after the original author died. Those are also pretty good. I will post them as well!

Three Great Novels - The Bourne Trilogy (Great Novels) by Robert Ludlum (2003)

I do have to say that I wish I was Jason Bourne. Only this man can be shot 500 times and still save the world.

Love Ludlum books. Great story from a great story teller.

A bit of a slog to get through. I probably expected it to be like the movies, which it isn't. I wish I had read it before watching the films.

Characters were so much better, more mature, more depth than the movie treatment.

I have finally found the case where the films were better. MY OPINION ONLY WHILE I REVIEW THIS BOOK. I applaud you if this book is good for you and you enjoy it. I absolutely love the films, so trust me when I tell you, I really really wanted to love this book. I tried so many different times to get through this book and I’m just honestly quite bored with it. The films are so much different than the book, I just can’t get into it. It’s actually quite frustrates and angers me that the film saga that I love so very much and the character that I love so very much bores me in the book. I love to read, and I am constantly constantly always with a book in my hand or my Kindle or my nook I have both. I always am the guy that bashes the films and say the book is so much better whether it be Stephen King, who is my favorite author, or Tom Clancy or anybody else for that matter. I am always the guy saying that the films are garbage. But I finally found my unicorn I guess, this just did not work for me and if it works for you and you enjoy it that’s awesome because as a society I feel we don’t read as much as we should.. So this review is not to discourage you from picking this book up and reading it, rather it’s just me as a avid reader who loves loves to read just expressing how disappointed I am with the book and myself for not loving it more. Keep fighting the good fight Jason Bourne you are still one of my favorite characters, even though it Has to be in film form and not in book form.

Overall, the book could be entertaining. There were times when characters were speaking in French. Since I don't speak French and these conversations were not translated, I have no idea what they were saying at the time. Personally, I found this annoying. I also find it annoying when characters are professing their undying love after knowing each other for two days. My ability to follow action in the written form is limited. So I found that I would skip through a lot of these parts. Ultimately, I think I probably would have enjoyed this book a bit more if I knew nothing about the movies. But it was a good read.

The books are great, and I really enjoyed them. Don't try and confuse them with the movies, because they are completely different. When the screen writer wrote the screen play for the first movie he/she stayed pretty close to the book, but the next two movies he/she decided to do whatever they wanted which wasn't staying true to the story line, but oh well... I like the movies, I just want people to understand that they are completely different.
