The ending literally had me giggling like a lunatic. If I'd been standing up as I read the end I would have started jumping up and down and clapping.

I feel like Runaways is a classic in terms of teen-team-oriented comics in Marvel- I'm pretty sure Young Avengers started after this. I completely forgot how engaging Marvel comics, especially ones with teen superheroes (have I mentioned how much I love Young Avengers? Because I do love it, very very much), are, and I'm starting the next volume immediately. As in, right after I finish reading this.

This comic is very of its time, and I really like the art. The plot was so well set up in this first volume, as well as each of the kids' individual characters. I like that Alex has sort of become the leader of their group despite being the only one at this point to not have an established power/ability of some sort, and I really can't wait to see if he does have some sort of secret power.

I think any fans of Young Avengers would enjoy this; it's fun, exciting, and definitely something new to me.

Halfway through this I wasn't so sure I'd be able to stomach the whole series. It was increasingly apparent that maybe this book was a little too young adult for me. Then I remembered that I don't care and read it anyhow.

AHHHHHHHHHHH. Me gustó mucho. Nico/Sister Grimm es mi favorita, estoy segura de que es 100% emo.

Cool. A bunch of teens who have not much in common except their parents, decide to eavesdrop on the annual meeting. Find out their parents are supervillains, see them sacrifice a woman. Every teenager already thinks their parents are evil, but to find out it's true? What to do next? This promises to be a fun series. I especially like that one family are vegan pacifist hippy-types. Surely they couldn't be evil? Oh yeah, they could.

Ugh. I love Brian K. Vaughan. I love this story, the artwork, the characters... The only part of the story I didn't like is that the parents legitimately want to kill their own kids. It really bothers me. I'm still going to read the next volume and see what happens.

Something about this group of kids suddenly finding out that people close to them are super-villains is really resonating with me lately. What's best is that they remain hopeful and vow to fight together on the side of good.

These kids are plucky and I like that they each have their own way of going about things. I enjoyed the text and the artwork, plus the story was very engaging. Very cool concept. Very likely to pick up volume 2

This was awesome. Great cast, fun storyline and solid artwork. May just have become one of my favourite Marvel Series - now, when do I get Vol.2?

I really like this book and it was fun to read but there were some things I didnt like
1. The younger girl acted a LOT more younger than she was and it was annoying and I hate how hard it is to find kids that actually act their age in books
2. The romance between Alex and nico is so annoying i hate it. Nico is my favorite character and alex is just so annoying, condescending, and acts kinda pretentious. They just don't make a good match because I don't really care about alex and I wish they just didn't include it

I will continue reading the series because overall it was good and I would recommend it

This is basically the quintessential teen comic. What teen wouldn't love to discover that their parents are actually evil, confirming all the natural suspicions that come at that age?

Well, enter the Runaways. A group of kids who's parents meet in secret at regular intervals throughout the years. These supervillian adults, who call themselves The Pride, keep a not-secret-enough hidden passageway, where they clad themselves in tights and leather and are discovered by their adolescent children in the midst of sacrificing a young girl.

Each character is distinct and memorable in their own way and it seems there may be a couple budding romances and many, many family secrets to be discovered. One involving a telepathic velociraptor! SCORE!

It's a quick and easy read, with many more, presumably and hopefully just-as-good if not better, volumes to come. Including one written by Joss Whedon! Hell to the yeah!

I usually like more intense graphic novels, but I must have been in the mood for a lighter read. It was fun and slightly fluffy, but who can't use a little fluff every once in a while?

I am very much looking forward to reading the sequels (and gazing at the pretty pictures). Actually, the art isn't breath-taking, but I dare say it's "cute", which is most likely what the publishers were going for with the intended age group.

Oh, the rights have optioned for a movie as well. It's a shame they aren't doing a tv series though, especially with the coming absence of Smallville. :(

Of course, by this point I should’ve known that any series by Brian K. Vaughan is clearly up my alley, but I was a bit skeptical with Runaways. That quickly went away though, as everything starts at a breakneck pace and my interest just skyrocketed from issue one onward. There are certain writers who just capture the voices that sound like people I know, and BKV has always been at the top of my list for comics with relatable characters delivering dialogue that just sounds real. Very excited to see where things go from here.
