I consider this novel of Foyodor Dostoevsky as an epic. It is a book where Dostoevsky appeals to emotions and feelings through his artistic style of writing novel, he has succeeded in producing profound amount of emotions and feelings in the novel. I will provide the short story of entire novel here. This book is essentially contradicting the idea of Christendom where Christian religion is giving the hopes to people that one day, in future, resurrection of Christ will happen, and Christ will recuperate the peoples from pain and trouble in future. Here is the novel in a short story:

Novel begins with arrest of a person who claims himself as to be the Messiah. but before the arrest of the person, he performed some miracles, in that he gave eye-sight to the blind and also some other miracles he performed in front of crowd. At that particular time, peoples started claiming that he is the one, our Messiah, our Saviour.

At that time, The Grand Inquisitor enters the hall, and he arrests the Messiah. Messiah does not resist and Messiah walks away from the crowd with the Grand Inquisitor and soldiers. Messiah was kept in a prison. Messiah did not speak a single word from his mouth. After a while, The Grand Inquisitor enters the prison room, he starts asking questions to the prisoner Messiah. this is the most important part of novel where the Grand Inquisitor poses serious and emotion appealing questions in front of Messiah, but Messiah does not answer a single question.

In the end, The Grand Inquisitor says that why have you come back, we have been living our life, at least we have been trying to improve the conditions of human life, peoples are not happy, but they have understood that it is their fate which they have to face it, without any one's support. The Grand Inquisitor says that due to your resurrection, peoples will start building hopes that their messiah and saviour will take away all the troubles of life. But this time, peoples are not imbecile, they have gone through so much pain, and they have pined secretly in corner for their beloved ones. Tomorrow, people itself will lynch you and kill you in front of all the peoples.

But as usual Messiah does not speak a word, due to that the Grand Inquisitor becomes infuriated, his silence was creeping him out, his emotions of pain and trouble for humanity were making a silent humming sound in which sound of chaos was more than the sound of waves of see.

The Grand Inquisitor controls himself, and tell the Messiah to go back and leave us in our condition. Messiah stands up, he looks at the Grand Inquisitor, and he kisses the Grand Inquisitor on lips, with that the Grand Inquisitor dies, and Messiah walks away from the prison in the darkness of prison.

So this was the glimpse of novel, those who are interested in reading more about existensialm, this is a very nice novel where Dostovesky has given importance to humanity and human, and their eternal sufferings in this life. As a reader, I admire the character of the Grand Inquisitor, his passion for humanity, and his passion to leave the idea of divine to support the humanity.

This is a brilliant and fabulous book, compare to other fictions, this novel is for those who are great adherents of humanity and can do anything. I Love this book.

Wow. Simply wow. I was not expecting to come across a piece of writing that fit what I had been thinking about recently and portrayed the inner struggle of finding an answer to the sufferings through Christ so well. Dostoevsky wrote through Ivan the "only" rational answer to whatever was put on man through Christ in such a desperate, and urgent manner.... I felt electrified reaching the end and finding myself agreeing. What a story.
