Another crazy adventure of bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. You just never know what you are walking into when you take on an FTA - even if it is the local ice cream seller that everybody loves. Once the body count starts piling up and your own life is threatened, it's time to realize that you are in way over your head!
Janet Evanovich has a way to tell a story that involves the reader, no matter what. In this particular series - there are now 24 tales and still going strong - where you start reading and soon feel that all these things cannot possibly be happening to the heroine of a book ... and yet, you simply cannot put it down either. Such is the magic of both the author and the hapless bounty hunter.
Happy Reading!

This was another amazing ride. Every time I pick one of these up, I never know what Stephanie Plum will be up to this time. I had so many moments where I couldn't help, but laugh out loud. The story kept me going and I managed to read it all in one sitting.

Grandma Mazur ... I'd like you to meet Lula!

It was a slow day in the bounty hunting business and the best that Stephanie could do was an FTA. "Uncle Mo" Bedemier, well-loved owner of the local ice cream parlour, was a "failure to appear" on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. Stephanie didn't like the idea of having to chase down one of the burg's most respected citizens and the local populace, thinking the charge bogus and ill-advised in any event, certainly weren't tripping over themselves to give Stephanie a lending hand finding her man. But business is business and Stephanie is Stephanie. She leaped into the deep end of the pool and soon found herself up to her neck in murdered drug dealers, vigilantes, bible-thumping snake-charming country preachers and the porn industry. Plenty of room for fun and games in this little story!

But from the first moment a grateful reading audience read Stephanie Plum's exploits in her debut novel One for the Money, the plot never has been the thing. Three to Get Deadly doesn't change a thing about that. Character development, slapstick comedy, earthy blue-collar New York dialogue and sticky wickets that would do The Perils of Pauline proud are what has rocketed this series to the top of the best-selling lists. No doubt about it. Janet Evanovich continues her string of successes and laugh-out-loud hilarity reigns supreme from first page to last.

Did you like Grandma Mazur in the first two books of the series? Then you'll die for Lula, former juiced hooker, newly minted office assistant and bounty hunter in training under Stephanie's dubious tutelage. She's "f"-ing amazing - funny, frolicsome, free-wheeling, full-figured, feisty, fired-up, frantic, in your face and fabulous! She's got a salty mouth and an attitude that any self-respecting trucker would be might proud of! What a piece of work.

Highly recommended.

I have read three of these books in a week, loving them but I think I may be overdoing it. The thing I love about Stephanie Plum is that she is very relatable and very human.

This was a great read. I really enjoyed the humor in the story. The characters are great to read and they make me laugh. I really enjoy Stephanie's character because she is a kick ass character. She does not always know how to handle situations, but she is a person who gives it her all, and that is something that I admire about her. She never gives up. I thought that the story was great. I have found a new love for the mystery genre, and I am glad because these books are funny, while other series are not. So I get to see the differences between both types of mystery books. I cannot wait to read the fourth book. Overall, an enjoyable read.

This is a humor/cozy mystery/chick-lit, and this is the 3rd book in the Stephanie Plum series. I have listen to this whole series on audiobooks, and the narrator of the audiobooks does a great job on this book. All the books in this series will make you laugh so much, and I will say the way to read these books is by audiobooks. All the characters are so fun and developed. I love this series so much. Stephanie Plum always gets into big messes, and she will make you laugh so much.

This one is my favorite so far. The recurring characters have all really come into themselves by this point, and it's fun to see their relationships grow and evolve. This one probably had the most laugh out loud moments for me, and I think I've officially decided that Lulu is my favorite character. So far anyway. I get the feeling that Grandma Mazer might take over eventually.

Bounty-hunter Stephanie Plum is on the hunt again, in Janet Evanovich's "Three to Get Deadly," and she is out to catch The Burg's most wanted and dangerous "Failure to Appears": drug dealers, murderers, guys in chicken costumes. And poor Stephanie has the battle scars to prove it: she is shot at, knocked unconscious and has her hair dyed (unwillingly) orange.

Janet Evanovich, in this series, has managed to deliver humor along with the suspense, and "Three to Get Deadly" has its fair share of both. Someone is murdering drug dealers and addicts in The Burg, and the killer means business. Stephanie's biggest problem isn't the cops or the actual killer: it's the public. Every citizen is supporting this vigilante, some to the point of taking up weapons to protect him. They send Stephanie their message in a hail of bullets: "Stop going after our hero. He is cleaning up the town!"

Meanwhile, the questions facing Stephanie, Ranger, Morelli, and Lula multiply. Could the kindly, candy store owner "Uncle Mo" be a cold-blooded killer? Will the bodies stop popping up in bizarre ways? Is Stephanie ever going to own a decent car? "Three to Get Deadly" is a top-notch crime thriller while tickling your funny bones. Stephanie has been getting more endearing with each novel, and I can't wait to read the next one!

n  “I make lots of mistakes. I try hard not to make the same mistake more than three or four times.” n

Stephanie Plum novels were my after break-up go-to books in high school.
Getting a heart broken at the age of 16? Just invite Steph into your room and it will get mend within hours, smile back on your face!
That was the reason I only read the first two: been saving all the following sequels for years to come.

And the reason why I haven't picked them up in the past 7-8 years was because I was afraid the magic is gone.
That I enjoyed them so much simply because I didn't know better.

Now I find myself silly and feel ashamed for the lack of faith.
Stephanie is as good (or bad?) as ever!
Absolutely loved this book, been having the biggest grin on my face from the page 1!

So happy this is pretty much an infinite series and I can enjoy it forever now!

PS I really need Grandma Mazur to be alive and rocking in all the following sequels.

I liked the book. Another fun, cute story. I loved the "And I have orange hair!" scene with the bad guys who torment Stephanie, as well as the one of finding out all the little old women and men in her apartment complex have guns. They were quite silly scenes. The audiobook, however, tested my ability to get through it. I really didn't care for the audiobook voice artist of the one I found at the library. She really doesn't have the sound I'd choose for any of the characters. She did a pretty good job reading, but I didn't enjoy the whole of listening to her reading the book.

4 Stars. I enjoyed this one. Solid mystery with plenty of laughs. Plum is an interesting character and the sidekicks get better with every book.

The subject matter could have been cringey but it was handled well. Some was just innuendo, and that actually improved the mystery. Definitely looking forward to what this crew will have in store next.
