This audiobook is good with humor and different voices. Many characters have personality like grandma and Lula. This story felt lengthy because Stephanie couldn't apprehend anyone she set out to do. She didn't seem actively finding different ways to find them either.

In this story, Stephanie was to apprehend Uncle Mo, the guy who run the candy store in the neighborhood. Everyone loves him and couldn't believe he does anything wrong. He was caught carrying an illegal weapon. But he didn't show up to court because he has a lot of secrets.

Stephanie tried to get with Joe Morelli. They have a complicated history together.

Stephanie attempted to apprehend another guy who worked the fast food chains in the mall but it didn't go well. She's new to the bounty Hunter job so I get it. I like the humor in this series so I will listen to other books because the narrator did a fantastic job.

Thank you Simon Audio for the opportunity to listen and review.

This was another light and fun instalment of the Stephanie Plum series.

This time Stephanie has been tasked with brining in Mo "Uncle Mo" Bedemier. An easy job on the surface given the guy is fast approaching retirement age. Unfortunately for Stephanie the whole neighbourhood loves local sweet shop owner Uncle Mo and are more interested in scolding her for harassing the poor guy than they are in helping her find him. Elsewhere in the Burbs crime is at a low as the local criminal element seem to be disappearing.

The story was quite entertaining and had a good mix of humor and action. Stephanie always gets herself into the most crazy of situations! We got more of the Stephanie and Joe "romance" which I liked. We also got to see plenty more of both Ranger and Lula. Lula was almost as hilarious as Granny Mazur.

All in all a fun read.

Rating: 3.5 stars.

Audio Note: I seem to have warmed to C. J. Critt and think she did a good job with this one.

3.5 rounded up. This was another fun and fast read. I really enjoyed the mystery element of this one, and I'm definitely excited to keep reading the series!

However, it's worth mentioning that this book did NOT age well. It's littered with things that are really problematic by today's standards. It was uncomfortable to read at times. (Like, we're talking racism, homophobia, sexism, fat phobia, questionable consent issues, etc.)

The previous two had the same issues, but it's really blatant and much more pronounced in this one. I'm hoping as the series progresses and the times change, it'll be reflected in the series.

What started as the easiest apprehension, turned into a nightmare. Uncle Mo, the neighborhood friendly ice cream man, skipped his court date and disappears. Plum has the whole town against her for trying to apprehend Uncle Mo, as uncle mo can do no wrong.

The steamy chemistry between plum and sexy-sugarry-donut-cream cop Joe Morelli is getting ever so strong. The crazy Grandma Mazur was pushed to the background with the return of Lula. Lula is by far my second most favorite character, after Grandma Mazur.

To add to the misfortunes Stephanie Plum ditches the buick and buys a Nissan. Finally, we get to see Hamster rex in a lot of nail-biting action.

Here is the third book in the series and yet another short and sweet tale. Perfect to listen to when you have a long commute to the doctor's office and back.

Stephanie Plum, is truly having a bad month. First she decides to have red highlights put in her hair when she sees a skip pass the beauty salon in the mall. The skip gets away, but Stephanie's hair should have been rinsed ten minutes prior to her return to the salon; no red highlights, bright orange hair which rather clashes with Big Blue, the old car she has to use until she can replace her own vehicle. If all of that isn't enough to ruin your life, Stephanie must bring Mo Bedemier back into the system. Mo, known as Uncle Mo by all, is the most beloved man in all of Trenton, and no one is going to help her locate him.

Of course, Stephanie is not totally alone; she has Morelli, Ranger, Grandma Mazur and Lula, it is rather like The Lone Ranger and Tonto meet the Three Stooges.

Never fear, Stephanie may be a bumbler but, she always gets her skip!

Because it's better than TV, and I can listen to it in the car. And because Stephanie Plum is one of my favorite literary (?) characters. This one moved a little slower than others, and feels dated: the principals all seem to carry pagers. Remember those? It was right before Al Gore invented the Internet. It was a good mystery, though, and I just love the provincial feel, the way the story never leaves Trenton, but never has to. Everyone knows everyone, and no one ever grows old, not even Grandma Mazur. Love all these people: Morelli, Ranger, Lula, Connie, Gazara, even Vinnie. I'd read about then any day. (Although I might jump ahead to #15 and up; like I said, this one felt dated.) Boy, am I glad Evanovich watched Midnight Run one day.

What the heck, right? These books are FUN. Come at me, all you MFA's, all you English teachers, all you would-be poets. You read Chaucer, I'll read Stephanie Plum. I'll defend fun reads, beach reads, airplane reads to the hilt. Hmmph!

I never read any of the books in this long running series when they were first published. I had so little time back then that they were overlooked. However, after enjoying the first two books I've decided to periodically pick up a next installment in order of publication. It's interesting how much things have changed in just twenty years! At least in this book, unlike the previous two, the main character is carrying a cell phone. (A flip phone that is!! The latest and greatest thing according to Stephanie Plum. HAHA) I will continue to read the installments until I tire of them or they stop making me smile. I know others find them laugh out loud funny, but it's not that good for me. Usually that is -- I have to admit Lula talking about her intestinal troubles had me giggling a bit this go around. Most importantly through reading the series so far I have been consistently amused at the antics and really enjoy some of the supporting characters enough to chuckle, snicker, or perform an affectionate eye roll from time to time.

As for the rating in this book:

I think this was by the best of the first three in the series. True rating if possible would be between 3.5 and 4 stars.
