I remember certain elements from It's Not Easy Being Mean, so I think I might've read this one before. I know I've read most of them but couldn't remember where I stopped so I decided to re-read them all.

There are no words for this book. It seems like the more I read, the worse it gets. I can't say anything about the writing, because it's not written with any "normalcy." It's all written to the beat of a bunch of self centered egotistical rich stuck up middle school kids.

This time they're on a mission to find a key, so 8th grade will be "soo cool" because of a secret room. Claire gets kicked out of the Pretty Committee... again. When will she learn? I hope somewhere along the lines of this series, she wises up. For realz.

And I leave with my Massie-ism:

"Are you a pyromaniac? Because you're playing with fire!"

Even they're getting cheesier.

Kristen Gregory is an amazing soccer star but will her friends ruin her style?! Alicia Rivera uses her gossip skills, and charming good looks to get in to the Brirwood Boys Rooms. Dylan Marvil heard depresion makea people lose wait does anyone have any sad storys? Claire Lyons relizes that being famous is harder then it looks. Spending time with her lawyers is taking away from spending time with theb preety comitee, and her cute boyfriend Cam. Will she star in a movie,or stay back home with her friends?!

It's Not Easy Being Mean is a great book with real situations and real drama that teenage girls can connect with. It is part of a series called The Clique Series by Lisi Harrison. There are nine books in Lisi's series and i plan to read them all. The books are The Clique, Best Friends for Never, Revenge of the Wannabes, Invasion of the Boy Snatchers, The Pretty Committee Strikes Back, Dial L for Loser, Its Not Easy Being Mean, Sealed With a Diss, and Bratfest at Tiffany's. There are a lot of different things happening in the plot of this book. There is a so called “pretty committee” of OCD which consists of Massie, Dylan, Alecia, Kristen, and Claire. They are 7th graders and the OCD 8th grade alpha is handing down the key to the pretty committee. Skye Hamilton was the alpha and she held a contest on which 7th grade group could find the key first. The key was hidden under one of the Briarwood Boys matresses. Who will find the key? Who will take over the alpha position?

tThis book was very exciting and a very fun read. I recommend this book to any teen girls or even just girl or young adults in general. The language used in the book is also sarcastic a lot. It is the kind of tone and language that most teenagers would use in their everyday lives and that is a lot of the reason these books are so fun to read. I love reading about drama and other peoples lives. It gives me a way to escape mine for a little and read about other peoples problems and the ways other teenage girls live their lives. It might not be the most realistic thing ever but it is pretty close and really interesting to read. The mood of this book is very sarcastic in a way. It makes you laugh a lot and makes you want to keep reading and reading.I gave this book four stars because it was very fun to read. I love how these books are written and I will continue to read the rest of Lisi's books in this series.

This book fell a little flat for me on the re-read. After the crazy adventures in the last two books, the Pretty Committee's return to OCD felt less exciting and the drama was a little forced. I had a hard time getting excited about the secret room the girls are looking for.

2.5/5

After the Pretty Committee has come back to OCD after a long month of Hollywood, things will never be the same; especially for Claire. Since she was just in the new movie, Dial L for Loser, everyone's focus is now on her, not her popular friends. But soon after their arrival, Skye Hamilton, the most popular girl in 8th grade, has announced a contest: whoever finds the key to a secret room is crowned a "true alpha" by Skye and gets the room for their year as an 8th grader. However, there are more girls who have gotten the message. Will Massie be the first to the key or will an LBR become OCD's new alpha?

i think that this book was a very interesting book. this book is about these girls in the seventh grade trying to find the key to be an alpha. the only problem is that the girl that hid the key said that " since its the fifth anniversary of the room, im going to break the tradition and do something different. instead of automatically handing the key down to the 7th grade alpha, i sent 4 more cdrooms to all the losers so they could have a chance to become alpha if they find the key."
they got a poem that gave them hints about were the key is hidden. they are searching all the boys she kissed beds becuase thats were she hid it. Claire and her friend find the key underneath the bed of Laynes brother Chris. they give the key to them and they tell skye. Skye shows them the room but tricks them and pretends that the room is and old bomb shelter with bugs all over the floor. they were kidding and showed them the real room and it was like paradise for them and they had a t.v. that was special edition. they were able to see which boys liked them because the girls hia a camera in abear that they used.

I think this book was hard to read only because it was very detailed in the wording like"ehmagawd" weid spelling. But i agree with the title it is not easy being mean. sometimes it may be but sometimes it is not. None of the characters related to me because they were all preppy and im not. Also because most of the girls in there are rich with a celebrity parent or a role in a movie.
I am not rich and i dont have parents that are rich. this book takes place in a middle school, i am in high school. And also they have a "clique" like a group or something. i dont have one of those because ... i dont know i just dont have a group. I wish people were asking me for my autograph but im not famous like these girls in this book.
anyways what im trying to say is that this book was not my favorite and i dont think i would read it again... i dont really recommend it, but at the same time i havent read the rest of the books that go along with this one.
