I enjoyed hearing words that aligned with my thinking and was thrilled by learning subtle wisdom throughout, along with practical examples to drive home thoughts. Set on fast speech mode while driving between cities so I could focus on the words and ideas as opposed to relaxing. Thank you.

Audiobook review:
Walk through a door and above the door is a sign that says “Allow”. Be in that space, even in the painful moments. “Space” is without thought, it’s between, not a location or event but a non-event—the now. In the now, in space, is awareness and freedom. “Thinking will be there when you need it”, said Mr. Tolle.

That’s my summary of the first 2 chapters—probably the whole book. The objective of the book is apparently to help readers be free from the tyranny of thought and worry—an idea I can get behind!

According to a brief statement, the audiobook was recorded at a retreat live. I get the sense that the print book is a transcription of the retreat sessions.

Mr. Tolle has a methodical way of speaking. He doesn’t say much, but he used a lot of words. His ideas are simple but profound concepts. He’s trying to express a state that is separate from things and words; something that can’t be defined and summarized; it’s impossible to be exact. So it seems to take lots of words to get close. Interestingly, I found that the way he spoke helped me experience a sort of “now”. He helped me to slow down and listen and relax. He even has a sense of humor which the retreat attendees (and I) appreciated.

After 2 partial chapters, I think I got the book and didn’t need to finish. I believe in God so I would add that the true sense of now and awareness is in communion with the capital “G” God (not the universe or myself)—an other that loves me and is healing me and helping me grow to be like Him. However in spite of the differences between the book’s premise and my beliefs, I was able to benefit from what I heard and leave the rest.

These guideposts lead to a very real truth. Eckhart Tolle's message never gets old.

Very nice audio book. His voice is so relaxing. He reminds us to be more in the "now", because that's truly all we have. Always a good reminder!
