In the book “A Divine Revelation of Hell,” author Mary K. Baxter describes her personal journey through Hell as told in her own words. This compelling story describes Mary Baxter’s journey through Hell as she is called upon from Jesus to share with the world her “visions.” Over a period of thirty days Mary is shown the consequences of people who sin on Earth and do not repentant their sins.

Throughout the book the author uses great detail to grab the attention of the reader. In one part of the book, which I found intriguing, God leaves Mary alone in Hell to feel how the lost souls struggle and to show that Hell exists. This is my new favorite book and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading books that you cannot put down. I look forward to reading the second part of her journey, “A Divine Revelation of Heaven.”

Amateur writing and very repetitive. Nice book if you want to scare kids into being Christians. I do not think this is a non fiction book. To each is own.

I just cannot take books like this seriously. This falls into the same camp as n  23 Minutes in Helln, in that it could easily be a hastily written, "spiritually-inspired" cash grab. These are my own views and subjective opinion, and to each their own.

Our spiritual journeys are very personal affairs, and can, and will, be influenced in a variety of ways over the course of our lives. Baxter may have actually had a divine revelation of hell, and then heaven, and then the spiritual realm, and then of spiritual warfare, and then of deliverance, leading to a whole host of best-selling books, but I cannot recommend a Dante's Inferno influenced depiction of a divine revelation as anything more than a fear-mongering, cash grab, or simple fiction - and Dante did it with infinite more style.

I have to say that this book scared me. I read about 30 years or so ago as I have a self-published edition of this book. It definitely makes one think about being ready for the afterlife.

I will say this book didn’t scare me as much as it did 30 years ago but it still shook me and has made me start to think about rededicating my life (if only I could give up complete control).

A must read

This book gives a slight but frightful insight of hell and why the Gospel needs to be preached wherever we go.

Cautionary and Humbling

I loved the simplicity of the message. The descriptions and images were frightening but honestly reported and not diluted for our comfort. This is a serious message.

I have actually read this book several times. A little background. I was raised in a very religious household and so I just adopted a majority of my religious beliefs. I believe there is a hell and I believe in a Devine God. But I don’t believe God would allow someone to go “visit” to make a book for profit in order to change peoples lives to him. The Bible explains the consequences of sin and the Bible has already placed out an explanation of Hell. God already allowed Jesus Christ to die for our sins. No additional book needed. A good story but that is all it is.

It was not believable to me. It was very repetitive, the descriptions of Hell were things that could have been seen or heard from movies, and it lacked originality. I cannot say she was or was not taken to Hell. If this was true, then, I hope she obeyed God and warned those around her in a better way than she did in this book.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. It did however open my eyes.
