First time reading John Saul. This one was good enough that I’ll read more from the author. Decent horror novel that kept you wanting to know what was coming next.
I am a huge fan of John Saul. Even though he is not famous in my country his books was translated in 90s and early 2000s. I read him when i got the chance. This book is also so good. I love how Saul tells the story. And real life killer made it even more interesting. But one bad review from me is about characters. Story is good but characters are not memorable. There is not my favorite character. But like i said, love the book. My second favorite book of his after The Right Hand of Evil.
Well written, fun story. Characters were simple but relatable. I was hoping for more history on the origin of the doctor's collection and the events leading to the disappearance, but the ending was satisfying overall. 3 1/2 stars.
Decent book, a pretty good plot-"scary house", the teenagers are supposed to be seniors in high school but act like sixth graders, all in all it was a good book. It felt like it was for a younger audience
I did enjoy parts of this book but I was mostly disappointed. The pace was slow and there seemed to be gaps in the story. There were unanswered questions I felt should have been answered, a lot of things that never get explained and the ending was a bit of a letdown. It felt as though suspense was trying to be built in a few chapters but then it wouldn't really go anywhere. I reached a point where I just wanted to be done with this story. This book had a lot of potential but it fell short for me.
