I must say, this book had my full attention! Quite an eye opener for a silly lil ol Southern gal. Great read.... caution... you will be entering the spin zone. =0)
The more I experience and read spirituality that does not pander to a religion, the closer I feel to the source of our souls, Heaven, and timeless environments. Past lives used to disinterest me. Our concern is this life. I sought this book as a collecting completionist. A favourite road trip yielded it! More than ever, Sylvia Browne & Lindsay Harrison covered specialized ground.
“Past Lives, Future Healing: A Psychic Reveals The Secrets To Good Health And Great Relationships” is educational, medical, and scientific! It is enhanced by witticisms showing Sylvia’s mutual puzzlement and reticence of esoteric considerations. Like many hypnotists, Sylvia witnessed trips into past lives unexpectedly. Furthermore, she learned we can ask souls to show memories whence a problem originated. Medical and therapy colleagues sent occasional patients who made no progress on mental or behavioural concerns. These 237 pages share successful past-life regression therapy. Birthmarks were an astounding cell memory discovery, tangible connections with wounds from previous deaths.
There is no doubt that our present and spiritual roots work with our DNA. I always feel empowered and nourished by new ways to explain my faith. This introduction for cynics, versus genuine questioning skeptics, is so unarguable I must quote it!
“Be skeptical, as long as you offer society something equally comforting, hopeful, and reverent. By all means, let’s sit down face-to-face. I’ll bring my 48 years of readings, world travel, and comparative religion courses. I’ll bring my exploration of 26 versions of the Bible as well as the teachings of Buddha and Mohammed, the Koran, Egyptian book of the dead, the Bhagavad Gita, Apollonius of Tyana, the Essenes, Shinto, Theosophical Society, and the Rosicrucians. I’ll bring a life devoted to the gifts God gave me. If you bring something other than cynicism, please consider this a standing invitation”.
Interesting reading and I would like to believe that she is completely sincere. It's disturbing though that when you go to he website they are immediately asking for money. Makes me wonder...
Even if you do not belive in past life, it is interesting read the stories about her clients. And the point for me of this book is to keep looking to be a better person in this life.
I think Sylvia Browne is just great. I have read several of her books and enjoyed them all. They are all pretty similar in content, however, so I getthem mixed up.
One of the things I most appreciate about Sylvia Browne is that she makes no appology for her beliefs or who she is, yet she is the last person to thrust her belief system on you.
I picked up this book because it is about "cellular memory". I had a dream back in 1989 that used this word...so I was intruiged when I saw that she spoke about this (as I had never heard that term when it was used in the dream - though it is used somewhat frequently now).
She lists many regressions and healings throughout the book and gives you a prayer/meditation to do to do your own healing - which I am doing soon.
Through sharing stories of her clients Slyvia Brown explores the world of past lives and how they can affect our lives today. It was interesting to read the individual stories and I can't help but wonder if some unexplained emotions I have are a cause of an earlier life. If you believe in this, it's a great read. If you don't, well you'll spend your time arguing with the book.
For anyone who believes in reincarnation, this is a great book to read! This book includes many cases of Slyvia's career dealing with past life regression therapy. It could also answer some questions you have, and it could help heal ailments that you can't heal other wise. Such things as a chronic cough could stem from a past life and once you uncover that, your cough could go away. I STRONGLY suggest you read this book. It has answered many question I had about myself that other wise I had no answer to.
