This book was a lot of fun, like watching a really good comedy romance movie. I picked it up because I wanted a mystery set in Texas (I'm reading a mystery from every US state) and it did have some mystery elements, but mainly it was about finding love and finding one's place in the world.
Great title, how does it go with the book? This author counts much too much on women doing stupid things for the comedic situations. This book is better than the first of the series, but not sure I will continue. The mystery was much better than the first and even more applicable to the plot. But there are much better cute and funny women's mysteries.
A friend of mine got this at the library. We don't really have the same reading tastes, however she told me that I just had to read it. I have to admit I really enjoyed it. Some great Laugh Out Loud parts.
Living in Texas sounds like a whole different planet!! I wish I could be there, life in the Midwest seems dull in comparison!! Let's just say the rich are truly different. It is fun to read about formerly rich girls having to cope in the real world. Add two southern girls who love to play private detective and meddle, a new vet who is a hunk, and horses. What else do you need?
Didn't realize that the sequel would be centered on a different set of characters with Debbie Sue and Edwina being side characters, but I think that works. That way you can still do a dramatic romance and not have to constantly soap opera the people that we wrapped up in the first book over and over again. This one was equally as light and breezy and it was nice to have the mystery not be a person murder. Plenty of drama but the main 2 were still likeable. Fun and a fast read.
