Another adventurous and hilarious story about Debbie Sue and Edwina! These two friends crack me up! This time in Salt Lick Texas there is a new girl named Paige and a new Dr. In town who bought the Veterinary clinic. He and Paige start off on the wrong foot. Both coming from two different backgrounds. But they can't stop the attraction between them either. Meanwhile, someone is stealing old horses and selling them to a slaughterhouse. Paige quickly becomes friends with Debbie Sue and Edwina and no one can stop the three of them trying to track down the horsenapper! I loved this story!

I may be Broken-Hearted but my Hair Still Looks Great, by Dixie Cash, A-minus, narrated by Peggity Price, produced by Lone Star Books, a division of Recorded Books, and downloaded from audible.com.

This is the first book in the Dixie Cash series about Debbie Sue Overstreet and Edwina Perkins-Martin, beauty operators in the best and only beauty shop in Salt Lick, Texas who moonlight as the “Domestic Equalizers” detective agency. Their answering message for the detective agency is: “Domestic Equalizers: Get the Lowdown before the Showdown”. These books are extremely cozy and romantic but they are so funny that I laugh hysterically at some of the antics. In this one, a new woman Page McBride comes to town. She is a spoiled rich girl who wants to change her life. She goes to work on the biggest ranch in western Texas. Also, there is the handsome new young veterinarian. Of course the romance is between those two. But Page finds herself involved with Debbie Sue and Edwina in trying to determine who is stealing older horses, beloved pets, from their corrals and selling them to the glue factory. Laugh out Loud funny!

I picked this book up secondhand mainly because the title appealed to me. It was classified as a mystery, but described as a novel. It was quite funny, along the lines of Janet Evanovitch or Jennifer Crusie. I will definitely read some of the other books when I need an upbeat light read. Very funny.

More of a 3.5 for me. But I just couldn't rate it here as a 3 instead of a 4 due to the continuous laughing I did. I laughed so hard one time I almost peed my pants while my eyes were crying. Naw just kidding, but it did get to a point it took 20 min. to finish 2 paragraphs involving Edwina & a horse. These girls are GREAT!!

When under stress, I tend to find a book and disappear. The title looked fun, so I grabbed it off my shelf of books my sister had passed along. It's an easy, read in a day, type of book that was very funny at times. I would have liked to have seen the natural progression of the book to be more than a few weeks time frame, and the villain of the story is only mentioned once or twice, so by the end of the book, I was going "who was that again?" However, I love the recipes in the back and will be definitely trying some of them. The two stylists/detectives sound like a hoot, and I'd actually like to find women like that to hang around! Is this a book that will change the world. Nope! But it's truly a fun chick lit book for those needing a breath of fresh air during times of stress - or between reading heavier novels!

I enjoyed this book a lot! It was great! Great sense of humor. I love the friendship of the women and the feel of the people and where they live. I love the beauty salon as a focal point for these women who are no nonsense and great human beings. And the love for "Rocket Man", got to me. Great story.

I gave up on this one. It was okay, but didn't hold my interest. I was forcing myself to read and there are too many fabulous books to keep on with this one.
