Margaret Weiss works her story telling magic again. It has been many years since I last read any of the DragonLance novels, but this book has rekindled my interest. I will definitely look for Volumes Two and Three next time I am in a book store. The main character, Mina, is a little too piously evil for my taste, but there is a Kender who can talk to the dead, and a former monk of Majere (now a monk of Zeboim, the sea goddess), who has a fabulous kender-herding dog. I want to find out what happens to them next.

This is what happens when I need some brain candy for tech week, and have already picked clean most of the local library's sci-fi/fantasy. I read this. Wow. it was bad. To be fair, though, for a don't-think-about-work-or-fall-asleep-on-the-subway book, it was adaquate. And the sexy evil zombies were kinda funny. As is the fact that the "plot" is that Mina is such a special snowflake that all the dark gods want her to be their special friend. Yeah.

I always enjoyed Margaret Weiss’ writing style and plots. This book did not let me down.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down and i actually fell in love with the bad guy, and that never happens. I managed to read this in a day and quickly started the second one. Chemosh is dark and his plot to rule the world is clever and astute. Mina is sexy and seductive and she is very human in the world of the gods, which shows how alluring she is.

Not as good as the original Dragonlance books, but still entertaining and a quick read.

It was ok.

Neither stunning nor boring.

Nothing that encouraged me to read the rest of the series but for those that love the DL setting more than I do, I think this would rate higher.

I recently read this book. It has been over a decade since I last read a Dragonlance book and it filled me with a sense of nostalgia and longing for the world of Krynn I'd long since put down. The author drew me back into this world with such ease. The Dark Disciple trilogy was enjoyable.

Sweet Lunitari, I hate Mina SO MUCH. Such a Mary Sue.
But I love Chemosh and that's why I needed to rate it 3/5.
