Resulta algo reiterativo y cansino.

What do you get when you re-use the same tired villain from the previous trilogy and introduce two brand new heroic characters who are entirely devoid of having any personality?

Read this book to find out!

Ugh.

For readers of the Dragonlance series. We learn who Mina really is. Who can resist a book with Tasslehoff Burrfoot.

Kadun kirjan lukemista. Toimisi ehkä, jos olisin 10-vuotias.

Did not measure up to the classic Dragonlance trilogies, Chronicles and Legends. Plus it had sexy vampires. I don't want sexy vampires in my Dragonlance, dammnit. The only character arc I was mildly interested in was Rhys, though I don't know if it's enough to make want to read the rest of the trilogy. Maybe I'll just skim the Wikipedia plot summary sections.

None of the beloved "classic" dragonlance characters (i.e. the one of the first two trilogies) are featured in this book. The only returning character is Mina, a mysterious woman that was first introduced in the War of Souls trilogy. The mysteries surrounding her nature and origin will be finally revealed in these books.
Amber and Ashes focuses on the latest attempt of Chemosh, the god of Death, to gain the control of the Dark pantheon with the help of Mina, and on a human monk and a kender mystic that get caught in the middle of it. The first volume is quite a lot of fun to read, but it is not as epic, powerful, or captivating as the original novels. There is really no comparison.

wow this set of books seems to be back on track, am loving the first book as it is very powerful and interesting. In this trilogy we get to meet a new kinder and he is just as lovely as tasselhoff was, I have such a soft spot for kenders!! love also the character of the monk of majere and am enjoying the return of the gods with all their rivalries and bickering!!

Recommend, But…

I enjoyed this book, as I enjoy most (if not all) DragonLance books - particularly the ones written by Weis & Hickman. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if the passages relating to Istar more closely matched what we were told about the Kingpriest and Istar during the Legends trilogy books… That said, a fun and exciting read. I’ve been an avid Dragonlance reader since middle school and I’ve read and re-read the Dragonlance Chronicles more times than I can count.

Very good. Love DragonLance books. This is one of the better ones. Never read the series with Mina and Takhisis but definitely going to add it to my to-read list. Looks like it is going to get even better in the second one.

Following on from the War of the Souls, Amber and Ashes followed Mina in to a new game of chess, where the Gods are manoeuvring mortals for their own dastardly plans. All other plot lines feature new characters which are well fleshed out and have interesting arcs, with enough nods to the previous novels to keep fans nodding in appreciation. Weis's standalone writing is fine, featuring a less levity than her previous work with Hickman, which creates a darker and tighter novel. An entertaining page-turner, Amber and Ashes is solid start to a new trilogy and is a worthy addition to this legendary series.

Weis can't write a bad book. Good, super quick read. Nothing fabulous, but hard to put down.
