Primer libro que leo de John Grisham.
Este es un thriller distinto, uno como lector está acostumbrado a esos Thriller de crimenes y asesinatos, pues este es un Thriller más pasivo. Porque pasivo? En este libro nuestro personaje principal es Patrick Lannigan, un abogado estadounidense que murió en un accidente de auto, o eso era lo que creían las personas que lo conocían (Inlcuidos sus antiguos socios de Bufet) hasta que un movimiento bancario realizado desde una de sus cuentas le arrebató al bufet 90 millones de dolares.
En el trascurso de la historia John Grisham nos va dando detalles de como Patrick revivió de entre los muertos y robó toda esa cantidad de dinero, en donde estaba escondido, etc.
El lector va atando cabos poco a poco y se va dando cuenta de la genialidad de plan que había creado Patrick.
Un final que de cierta forma no me esperaba te deja con un buen sabor de boca, pues no todo es perfecto en la vida, señor Patrick...

LOVED this book - so smart and witty and edge-of-your-seat reading with lots of twists and turns. I'm torn about giving this 4 or 5 stars because the ending of this book taunts me in an intriguing and enjoyably annoying way...

This is my favorite Grisham book - legit think I’ve read it 50 times, and I still love it! Except I totally forgot that the last 5 pages completely changes the entire plot… Definitely recommend tho- the mystery is so interesting and different. You never know what’s going to happen next.

This is a novel about a young lawyer named Patrick Lanigan. He gets a job with a
law firm in Biloxi and he's with them long enough to become a junior partner. He finds
out through the grapevine that he is to be terminated. He manages to get away with
90 million dollars from one of their clients and makes his way to Brazil.He lives there for
4 years and falls in love with a girl named Eva. He is captured there buy the people that he
had taken the money from but he had Eva hide it so that he didn't even know where it was.
She notified the FBI that they had him which saved his life for they would have killed him
trying to get there money back. We now have a lengthy trial and Patrick wheels and deals to
try and beat all of these charges against him. This is an interesting story and I liked it all
but the ending.
