Fab, compelling story, I couldn’t put down.

The Partner is one of my favorite from Mr Grisham. Yes I know there are a lot of fictional tricks in the story, but I enjoy the suspense. I hold my breath for Patrick. I feel sorry and hate him at the same time.

As someone who just got on GoodReads, gotta leave a book review for my all time favorite!! If you’re gonna read a Grisham, this is the one! His most original and different. As a Grisham fan, The Partner is a great author’s masterpiece.

He had me at The Firm. Since then, I devoured every book of his. I would excitedly wait for a new book to come out and would be first in line to buy one. But for some reason, I missed this book.

The protagonist is a disillusioned lawyer who went through some hoops to get himself seemingly entangled in a situation which as a reader I knew right away he would extract himself out of admirably. No surprise there.

In a typical Grisham manner, the story is engaging, fast-paced, and clever. Not necessarily believable but one can easily forgive the liberties Grisham took to get the readers hooked.

Although entertaining, it did not dazzle. I gave it 3 stars because the ending was contrived and predictable although I could tell that Grisham was going in for a shock of an ending. Sadly, I was not shocked. I was disappointed. There could have been a better ending. But what the heck, he still is a good storyteller.

I would continue to buy (and read) his new books, one of which is coming out in Kindle edition a couple of weeks from now. Keep them coming, Mr. Grisham.

Interesting tale of a law partner who stole ninety million dollars from his firm, faked his death and ran for his life to many foreign countries. Eventually he was caught and brought back to be tried- but it was not that simple. Good book, but took me a while to wade through it.

I didn't like the format where we got the story in little bits; I didn't like the protagonist; and I hated the ending. I'm not rereading this one.

Brilliant strategizing, excellent suspense, but FRUSTRATING AND SAD ENDING.

REVIEWER’S OPINION:
I love Grisham’s writing style. I was engaged all the way through. There was good action and a lot of suspense. By the end I was amazed, impressed, and intrigued with all the planning, strategizing, and how things worked out. It may not be believable but it was fun. Then the ending was frustrating and unhappy. I WANT HAPPY ENDINGS. Unfortunately that was my only problem with the book. I loved the experience. The only thing positive about the end was that it was thought provoking. I had to tell myself yes I could see that. But it’s not a story I want to hear. I normally would give this book a below average rating due to the ending, but because the rest was so good, I compromised at 3 stars. For someone who would enjoy smart-thinking, out-thinking others, and a good suspenseful read, go ahead.

STORY BRIEF:
Patrick worked for a law firm that was about to receive 90 million dollars from a lawsuit, 60 million of which would go to their client Arecio. Patrick fakes his own death in a burning car. Soon after that, he steals the 90 million, transferring it to an offshore account. For four years he has been hiding with a fake name in Brazil. Arecio and two insurance companies hire Stephano to find Patrick. They have just found him. They kidnap and torture him asking “Where is the money?” Eva is a Brazilian lawyer who helps Patrick during this time.

The narrator Frank Muller is great. He adds fun suspense and drama to his reading of the book.

My third book by John Grisham and I haven't been disappointed yet.

This book was brilliant.
I loved the characters, the writing style, the plot and the pure thought and dedication that ultimately went in throughout the writing process. It was amazing how it all slowly came together and you found everything out in small pieces. It kept you interested until the end.

The one thing however, that made me put it down to 4 stars was the ending. Now I'm not gonna lie, I like the way it ending but it wasn't the happy ending I was hoping for, or a happy ending at all, for that matter. It could have been better set up and more importantly, explained. I was extrememly confused. I was unsure of what was happening in the last two pages and now because of that I have many questions but no answers which doesn't help my case at all.

Ketverius metus jis gyveno vengdamas visų, ėmėsi visokių gudrybių, kad jo nesurastų. Tačiau tai buvo neišvengiama ir jis buvo sučiuptas. Jis grąžinamas į tėvynę ir laukia netrukus prasidėsiančio teismo proceso. Kaltintojams it rykliams aplink Patriką grėsmingai sukant ratus, advokatui rengiantis ginti savo studijų draugą, padedant mylimąjai Evai, o buvusiems partneriams laukiant keršto valandos, išaiškėja netikėčiausių dalykų. Tačiau labiausiai ieškomas visų laikų nusikaltėlis Patrikas žino tai, ko nežino niekas kitas visame pasaulyje. Jis žino tiesą.
Labai įtraukiančiai perskaičiau, vietomis adrenalino lygis buvo užkilęs iki maksimumo, tik ne tokios pabaigos ir ne tokio poelgio iš Evos tikėjausi.

A fairly fun read. Lots of suspense with plenty of twists and turns.

An ideal fantasy of any corporate lawyer who is itching to escape! This is a fast paced, gripping thriller, very much keeping to Grisham style of narration. A compulsive page turner.
