Was an interesting story, I'm always down for a good conspiracy story about NASA and other governmental entities, but not sure if I'm supposed to actually like the ending of this one  to begin with it was obvious from the start that Anthony was the actual bad guy, if for no reason other than that our main character obviously wouldn't be, which led quickly to guessing that Elspeth probably was too; especially as she proved herself to care less and less about her "husband." I must say as a women too, I don't really care if she lied to Luke (and was a spy), he was a gross horn dog and had about as much self righteousness as Captain America. Gag. Absolutely no part of me liked Billie, she was a boring tart, which isn't so much of her fault as rather the fault of the male writer but big big yuck.

Also, I skipped over every single fact at the beginning of the chapters that was about building a rocket, they had no relevance other than attempting to look good - bore.

This is the first book I picked up of the author and I honestly did not expect much. But the suspense, the ease of the language made me finish the book in a matter of 6-8 hours spread over 3 days. Absolutely worth the read

Eng Persoun verléiert säi Gedächtnis komplett a fënnt dann innerhalb vun 48 Stonnen alles ëmmer op den éischte Versuch eraus. Enorm langweileg. Et geschitt näischt, wat een am Viraus net komme gesäit, an do wou et dann eng Chance op en Twist an der Geschicht gëtt, léist den Auteur se gekonnt aus.

Ech mengen ech hat et esou zesummegefaasst: Wéi ee Blockbuster mam Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Just ouni Special Effects, an ouni schéi Kierpere fir unzekucken.

I love Ken Follett books (on my list of top 5 authors) and be is really a great storyteller. The idea is interesting enough and the opening scene holds promise but it didn't quite live up to expectations. It also seemed like a rip off of Bourne Identity as it was written in 2000. I still enjoyed it although It seemed more like a churned out and slightly dated novel written to meet some publisher's deadline rather than the excellent stuff I expect from Follett.

Follett is awesome so instead of this read Pillars of the Earth and Fall of Giants plus their sequels. Some of the best Historical Fiction I've ever read. Also read his quality mysteries like The Eye of the Needle or The Key to Rebecca. He writes wonderful and highly readable books with great characters and exciting plots.

Most authors specialize in one particular genre. Ken Follett has the extraordinary talent to write anything. My first introduction to him was Pillars of the Earth. This spurred me on to its sequel World Without End and I was hooked. On Wings of Eagles proved him a master of both fiction and non-fiction. Code to Zero is set in the post WWII Cold War Era. The Soviet Union is winning the space race and the United States is desperate to catch up. Claude Lucas, a rocket scientist, wakes up in a public restroom with no memory of his past. A search for his past and the reason for his amnesia weave the reader on a hunt for the truth. As his past is revealed so is a conspiracy by his closest friends but the exact purpose of the treachery remains masterfully concealed until the end. In the end Dr. Luke Lucas had to lose his memory to find his mind. Some of the details strained my intellect and took up residence on the edge of possibility but at the conclusion of the last page, the Code to Zero proves a masterful piece of writing by a man at the top of his game. I recommend this to all Ken Follett fans and anyone that is looking for a masterly suspenseful read.
