A Christmas book by Don and Audrey Wood? Yes, please! I loved the fun, warm illustrations (as I do in every Don and Audry Wood book!) and I appreciated the simple message of giving to others, even when it may be uncomfortable or difficult.

This works great for Storytimes! I love the message of giving at the end.

Although this book is not as funny as the original, I believe it has a much better message. Instead of just hiding the gifts and keeping them all for himself, the little mouse decides to share. He has empathy and is sad that the bear never gets any presents. Although in the first book, the little mouse is selfish, you see how he feels sad for the poor bear, alone on Christmas. This is a great message for children on the importance of giving and the joy that it brings us. I really enjoy this book, and cannot wait to read it to my children at Christmastime.

Classic book. I bought it for my friend's children in the '80s, my own in the '00's, and my friend's grandchildren in the 2010's!.

I think I'm getting soft. This book made me tear up. Poor bear! I need to lay off the Hallmark Christmas Movies. They're affecting my sensibilities.

I love how this book shows that courage and compassion bring blessings, and that things aren't always as they seem.

Little Mouse has quite the stack of presents under the tree—for himself---but what about Big Hungry Bear who never gets a present and would do anything, ANYTHING, to get one? Best part: Sometimes things that look scary aren’t what they appear. Ages 2-8.

once again the Woods knock it out of the park, this time with a sweet Christmas story staring The Little Mouse. great illustrations and fun story. I've yet to be disappointed from this amazing couple!

A little difficult to understand for two-years-old. You don’t see the bear

Little mouse and the Big Hungry Bear again are a winning combination is this sweet story about a bear without presents...and a mouse brave enough to share. The mouse character is one of my favorites ever illustrated. Who but Don Wood could give so much determined personality to a little mouse?
