This book is funny and students would love to the humor. This is more for kindergarten kids or 1st grade. To include this, you can teach a lesson about farming and farm animals
Genre: Animal Fantasy Grade: Pre-K-3rd Dooby Dooby Moo is another hilarious and enjoyable story written by Doreen Cronchin. I believe the lovable characters: Farmer Brown, Duck, the cows, and the other animals within this picture book series are worth reading to any child. Children and parents alike will love the bright illustrations and quirky characters.
Farmer Brown knows something is up when an article from his newspaper has been clipped out (by Duck, of course), and he keeps a close eye on his animals. Duck, in the meantime, who wants to win the first-prize trampoline at the State Fair's Talent Show, keeps a close eye on Farmer Brown, and on all the other animals, who are practicing their acts. Will the animals win the trampoline? Will Farmer Brown discover what they're up to...? Read and find out!
Much like its predecessors, from n Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Typen to n Duck for Presidentn, I found Dooby, Dooby Moo quite entertaining, chuckling at more than one point at the antics of the animal cast here, and at Farmer Brown's hapless attempts to keep up. The story is engaging, and the artwork appealing, emphasizing the humor throughout. Duck is, of course, my favorite character, and he really shines here! Recommended to fans of the Farmer Brown's Barnyard Animals series, as well as to anyone looking for children's stories featuring the state fair.
Another fun tale of the antics of Farmer Brown's animals*. We have a singing competition at the local fair (first prize: a trampoline!) and all the animals want their chance. Who will win!? A silly storytime read for music or farm animal themes (and if you can read it without singing the animals' choruses, then you're stronger than I am!).
This book is a very good book for different voices and the pictures in the book are funny and cute. The students would stay engaged because of everything the teacher can do for this book.
great book to have in a classroom library, as it is silly and fun but repetitive for students. Could also have it read as a lesson but the storyline is a little uneventful, allow students to possibly come up with their own addition to the story, or how they can make it be more interesting. Allow them to possibly infer more information about the farmer, as their is not much information given about them.
