It didn't really work for me. It wasn't as funny as the first one, which I enjoyed quite a lot. This one didn't work the same way. Maybe it will take some time before I read the third one.

Still funny enough to balance out the ridiculous plot lines. Bridget Jones is as foolish as she is loveable and works as a character because the author is aware of that.

The interview with Colin Firth becomes even more hysterical when you've watched the movie beforehand.

As much as I love Bridget Jones as a character unfortunately the second instalment fell flat for me - it just dragged and dragged. The only real highlights for me were the Colin Firth interview and the Thailand trip, the rest just felt very same-y and honestly a little whiney. While the first diary championed Bridget being a Singleton, all she did in diary two was mope and pine over Mark Darcy which got tiring pretty quickly. Also had the same issue of having seen the film too often cropped up, in this instance the second film was far better than the book for me. Won’t be continuing with the Bridget Jones Diaries.

I desperately love Bridget, I really do, but the story just wasn't as funny the second time around.

I never thought I would tire of British humour, but - while The Edge of Reason is still VERY FUNNY - the plot line relies a lot on miscommunication stemming from the characters bumbling about and being unable to speak candidly about a situation or say what they really mean. Gets a bit old.

I don't think I'll carry on with the series. The original Bridget Jones Diary is absolute comedic and chick-lit gold and I'd recommend just sticking with that one.

Not as good as the first but still worthy of attention.

This story turned into love novel, but it's still great chick lit, great comedy and great story. Bridget is struggling with her relationship with Mark, had serious problems and struggling with her job. The end was satisfying and I was laughing out load during the feast.

В целом мне понравилось, были действительно смешные, нелепые моменты.Меня совершенно не раздражали мысли о похудание, или такие та внутренние надуманные самокопания героини, это даже показалось мне забавным.Но вот я абсолютно полностью разочарована в Бриджит Джонс как личности - она глупа, эгоистична, автор очень многое удачно подстраивает под нее, что для меня не работало. Допустим момент с ее работой - на протяжение всей книги она несет бред, а в конце оказывается креативным кадром.Единственное интервью она не просто запорола, она опозорилась. Этот фрагмент мне было даже больно читать. Совершенно не смешно.Не ждала я , конечно, что Бриджит будет разбирать ядерные реакторы, скорее я ждала от нее некой женской смекалки, находчивости, что-то такое простое, женское, что есть в каждой из нас. К сожалению у Бриджит напрочь отсутствую даже банальные женские качества. Так я и не поняла, что за ее полюбил Дарси...

Bridget nunca decepciona.

En esta secuela, Bridget Jones sigue poniendo de manifiesto las inseguridades y dolores de las mujeres europeas, de clase media y mediana edad, de los años noventa, con todo el peso de los libros de autoayuda, el recuento de calorías y el bombardeo mediático de la fortaleza de la mujer trabajadora vs la solterona.
Sin embargo, es capaz de ejemplificar todo esto (y mucho más) sin perder el humor y con una sonrisa.

Me ha gustado mucho ir comparándolo con mi propia perspectiva y la de mi entorno, viendo dónde nos hemos estancado y dónde hemos avanzado.

Lo recomiendo enormemente, aunque solo sea por jugar al "es igualita que yo" o "pero esta chica está loca".

Además, está inspirado en la obra de Jane Austen "Persuasión", así que te sirve si quieres fingir que lees novela decimonónica.
