I've read this for the second time.....putting off finishing another book. It is extremely helpful in creative ideas to make your point known to your children by teaching them, not just disciplining them. Excellent for anyone with a toddler up to pre-teen.

Awesome! Lots of wonderful and fun ideas on discipline. She uses the scriptures as a teacher for her children.

A great parenting book- learning to be more encouraging in our parenting approach rather than always focusing on the negative things our kids do. Full of lots of creative ideas too!

Wonderful book with Great ideas

I loved the way she explains things, got some good laughs out of this book and some great ideas!

I’m glad I read this book. The authors intentions to ground and guide her children with truth of scripture is very clear and a good reminder for myself as it’s easy to lose perspective. Each chapter has an area of parenting addressed from a Biblical perspective and then a follow up chapter of tools from the toolbox of practical ways to implement the message in every day correction.

There were many of the toolbox tips I didn’t necessarily agree with (hot sauce on the tongue for a lie, cutting up a child’s blanket to ween them, and I think you can teach respect without a yes ma’am parroted, etc), but there were plenty of ideas presented that gave me an opportunity to consider how I might apply them in my own way. All in all, if you can read it with an open mind and willingness to consider where you’ve been lax or inconsistent in correcting your kids you’ll certainly get something out of it.

This book has a lot of practical ideas that you can put into practice right away.
