Words I’ve never said before:
THE MOVIE WAS BETTER THAN THE BOOK. *sigh*
More like 2.5 stars. I loved the movie... and i liked how it felt like a gradual and believable love. Reading it just felt.... eh, not as believable? I feel like it happened all at once and it wasn’t a smooth translation from hate to love.
——the below might be a bit spoilery, but honestly, who hasn’t seen the movie lmao ——
I couldn’t stand the fact that every freaking chapter was “until i found out why later” or “she told me her secret later” or whatever. You get the point lol. For those who would read the book first before watching the movie... I feel like the author really lets you know that something is wrong with her and spoils the twist in the book. I mean, after the first hint, we got the point. It would just have made more of an impact for me if Sparks would’ve just left that shit out of the book.
Clearly we would’ve guessed something is wrong since Landon starts off in the book at age 50+ and is going to tell the story about a girl in particular... and the fact that he doesn’t mention her in his current life, states it right there.
Sorry. I ranted about that a little too much. I’m a huge sappy person and i didn’t shed one tear in this book AND i bawled like a baby during the movie.
Hollywood actually got something right for a change.
