Super excited to finally read my favorite anime. Ichigo is so cold, one of my favourite moments was him saying "if i cared what people think I'd have dyed my hair black a long time ago." Rukia was even funnier here than in the anime and the overall idea of hollows and soul reapers will never not be awesome. Only 4 stars and not 5 because the stuff with orihime and her brother dragged a little bit.

Ichigo is just a normal 15 year old guy... except he can see ghosts. Though everything changes when a Soul Reaper named Rukia comes floating into his room and a Hollow attacks his family. Little does he know this one encounter will change his life forever.

Once Rukia gives Ichigo her powers, he's forced to do her job and go after the Hollows. He's not sure he wants to that, but once a Hollow tries to attack him and then his friend Orihime... he knows he has to fight to protect them both, even if the Hollow was once Orihime's brother.

Next we get to met Chad, a badass guy with a heart of gold, and his pet Parakeet. Not just any Parakeet but a 'cursed' one! It causes horrible things to happen to it's owner. The question is though, is it really the bird... or a Hollow?

This is great first volume. It really showed us what we are in store for and we got a great impression of most of the main characters and how they are going to be. The art is great! Very detailed and clear and all the characters are all attractive. I love how the series blends humor and seriousness.

I should have read this a long time ago but kept putting it off. And I loved it! This is the second time that I've come across shinigami's in manga's and I loved it!

So, technically, I have the 3-Volume bindup and not each volume, but I've decided to review them all separately. Because I can. I have that ability.

So, this was something my boyfriend has been BEGGING for me to get into. Not that I was opposed, but (long boring story) and basically I can only really watch anime that doesn't require me to stare at the screen to, like, read subtitles, or pay very close attention to what's going on. That's an extreme limitation. But I still wanted to get into this, as I have ever since I was a wee lass flipping through my uncle's Shonen Jump magazines backwards.

Holy crap, am I so, so glad I did.

I love these characters. I love the art style. I love this world. This story is hitting all my sweet spots. I want to write more, but really I would rather be reading.

2022: It's been more than 10 years since I read the manga so it's like reading it all anew. This time around, I think my favorite part was Orihime's story, it made me sniffle a little. And then Chad's!

2010: The anime was quite true to the manga when it started so I pretty much know what will happen. Still, it's fun to read the story in a manga format. But I'm glad that I've seen the anime first because I can now imagine the Hollows' terrible, chilling scream. This manga is definitely a nice mix of humor, horror and action.

A fast jump right to the action. This has a similar premise to a lot of Shonens, but as with most of those, the action is well done and feels high stakes.
Orihime being such a ditz was annoying, but I'm glad she did get some depth quickly. It will be interesting to see how Ichigo grows through the series.

I had so much fun reading this first volume and I can’t really explain why. It’s so raw, so wholesome, and full of potential!

If you see me reading the entire series in a few days with no sleep, no you don’t … hahaha

Oh my goodness, I loved this book! This is one of the best manga series I've ever read. Kurosaki Ichigo has quickly become one of my top favorite manga characters, as well. I loved his selflessness in protecting his family. I think the part where he stabbed himself with the Rukia's zanbakutou (sword) was very poignant. To me, it was a foreshadowing of all the times Ichigo would willingly risk his life to protect someone else. Action sequences are great; story is unique and gripping; art very good. I'd definitely recommend it.

Sanırım aradığım manga serisini buldum. Bir süredir hem eğlenceli hem sürükleyici manga serisi arıyordum. Geçen başladığım Tokyo Ghoul'u sevsem de çok sarmamıştı ki Bleach çok iyi geldi.

Karakterleri ve hiikayesini beğendim şimdilik, ilk sayı içinde hem dolu hem de sürükleyici idi. Shinigamiler ve ruhların olduğu bir seri, burada Shinigamiler Ölüm Defteri'ndekilerden biraz farklı. Yazar bir çok farklı kavram ve karakteri bir arada okura sunmuş ancak bunu başarılı bir şekilde hikayeye yedirmiş. Şimdilik seride ilerlemek istiyorum.

Ok so that was great. That was freaking great. Must get book 2 ASAP.
