I’m glad to have read the unfinished novel of Truman Capote. I especially appreciate his skill in characterization and his exploration of reality as illusion, given he draws (it appears quite directly) from people and experiences in his life in his writing. But I’ll admit, the 1960s gigolo lifestyle with all its debauchery, high society drama, and Capote’s choice to publicly defame people in his life in print goes over my head. I guess back then you could publish anything!
