In the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey discusses seven habits which result in success. The habits are: Be Proactive, Begin With the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw. All of these habits produce successful characteristics which allow us to operate at higher levels and make us happier and most productive at the same time.

There was a lot of complex and psychological diction used in the book. Since the book deals with the human mind, it talks a lot about the brain and ways to incorporate certain habits into your pattern of living. There are many flashbacks talking about his own personal experiences. Also, foreshadowing is present because it talks about the benefits of incorporating these habits and all the amazing benefits that will come with these skills and habits.

There was literally nothing wrong or bad with the book. The book was terrific. The book was super super interesting and captivating. It kept me fascinated the entire way through reading. I kept wanting to learn more. All the psychology was super complicated but I persevered and understood it in the end. The only thing that was irritating was all the complex terms used so I would look them up to understand and as soon as I did I would know what Stephen was talking about. Besides that, the book was great!

Almost everything in this book was something I heard about somewhere, so there was no exciting findings.
I understand these are important lessons, but life is so complex and not so easy. Sometimes it may be good to reflect on what I am doing and think how I am being able to follow the rules.

This book is very beneficial to anyone that reads it, it allows for a great opportunity of self reflection. The habits talked about in this book would've been reletively common in the early 20th century, however the ideals of people today have changed greatly. The world has become impatient and focused on personal image rather than personal growth. Stephen Covey reminds the world of these ideals in his book. I belive if everyone were to read this and apply it to their lives, the quality of life for people would increase immensely. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking into personal growth and development.

Super slow and overrated! It is quite outdated if you are familiar with business books and general business concepts. I have heard the recommendation of this book in several self development podcasts and have high hopes for it as they all claim it is one of the best and a must read business / life development book, but that is nothing new ! If you are not familiar with business and self development books and want a book to give you a general overview then this is definitely a good start !

I won't say this book changed my life. I will say, however, that despite the fact that I loathe most self-help pop-psychology crapola, upon finishing it, I immediately bought this book for 3 of my family members. Covey has a gift for distilling the principles of dealing with people. Some of them may seem obvious once stated, but many you would not necessarily have arrived at on your own, or not with the same degree of sharpness, definition and context that he provides. It is well, well, worth a read, possibly even once every year.

Furthermore, unlike many books of this genre, it smacks very little of self-satisfaction or aggrandizement on the part of the author, and seems to genuinely come from a place of empathy and a desire to better the world via helping the people in it.

Here are a few things that you can expect from the book.

1- The seven habits of highly effective people helps us to identify and acknowledge the principles that lie deep inside the core of every individual and converts them into simple habits because a habit is the easiest way to practice any idea into our daily lives.

2- It seeks to transit an individual from the state of dependence to independence and further to interdependence. Therefore, the first three habits are about private victory, the next three, about public victory and the seventh habit highlights how you can constantly advance on the spiral of growth and personal development.

3- Its main focus is on building character rather than just developing personality. That is why, instead of stating tips or techniques, it attempts to deliver a wider range of perspective.

4- It can help you to grow physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

If I summarize everything in one sentence, the seven habits of highly effective people is a principle-centered, character-based, inside-out approach to personal and interpersonal effectiveness.
