It makes so much sense reading this that Aeschylus wrote a trilogy with the chaos involving Agamemnon and Orestes because this section of the story, even though its a stand-alone by Euripides, really gives off the innate in-between-ness of a trilogy you’d read at any time in history lol

Creo que leeré la versión de Sófocles. Me aburrí bastante. Demasiado lenta.

Bar the difficult-to-read misogyny, this is great play.

یه نمایشنامه‌ی دیگه از دوران طلایی یونان باستان... به نظرم به پای ادیپ شهریار نمی‌رسید (البته من ارادت زیادی به سوفوکل دارم) اما نمایشنامه‌ای پر مغز و فوق‌العاده بود که مثل آنتیگونه به مسائل خانواده و محبت و خشم در خانواده می‌پرداخت این‌که وقتی دوست دشمن باشه واقعاً آدم چه واکنشی باید نشون بده؟ به پاس دوستی‌ها بگذره یا جزای دشمنی رو بپردازه؟ جز علاقمندی‌هام خواهد بود.

Electra de Eurípides es una telenovela de Cris Morena escrita por Dani Umpi cuya multinacional de medios y entretenimientos Walt Disney adquirió los derechos para una futura versión cinematográfica protagonizada por Emma Watson en el papel de la muchacha que da nombre a la obra.

We finally got to find out how Aegisthus was murdered.
My favourite part of this play was seeing how Electra's character is written differently from her character in the Orestia. In there, she's given very little dialogue or agency, as apparently befits a woman of that time.
This Electra is outspoken, yelling at her relatives for the things they should have done for her, and taking an active part in the action of the story. Euripides writes women better, I guess.

Euripide a reușit să creeze niște personaje mai umane, care nu sunt atât de vindicative încât să nu realizeze urmările actelor sale. Nu e doar problema “mi-am ucis mama, pentru că ea mi-a ucis tatăl și m-a căsătorit cu Plugarul”, ci “mi-am ucis mama din ura resimțită în toți anii aceștia, dar oare trebuia să o fi ucis? Era totuși mama.”
Electra și Oreste se confruntă cu efectele acestea, încearcă să săvârșească dreptatea zeilor de capul lor, însă sunt pedepsiți de societate cu sentimentul de vină și cu exilul. Euripide este mai empatic, înțelege că ura și dorința de răzbunare sunt nuizibile, mai ales după ce vor fi fost îndeplinite. Tu îți poți săvârși crima dorită, dar ce faci după? Cum rămâne cu regretul care însoțește mereu o faptă ireversibilă?
Cam asta se întreabă și Raskolnikov și Albert III și e reconfortant să găsești aceeași preocupare și undeva cu aproximativ 2500 de ani înaintea ta.
