Teachers nationwide have been enthusiastically recommending this unique series from the Folger Shakespeare Library's Teaching Shakespeare Institute. This text includes provocative essays written by scholars to refresh both teacher and student, successful and understandable techniques for teaching through performance, and teaching methods that engage students at all levels.
The Folger Shakespeare Library, privately endowed and administered by the Trustees of Amherst College, is a research library located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Opened in 1932, it has the world's largest collection of printed works of William Shakespeare and is a primary repository for rare materials from 1500–1750.
As far as teaching Shakespeare goes, this book is the best collection that I've come across. I've used it for both Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth and been very pleased with the lesson plans/assessments.
