An atypical L'Amour story in which a Texas cow outfit, upon the murder of one of its' men, decides to put a town under siege. The title really has nothing to do with the story, but it probably helped sell the book. Recommended to L'Amour fans.+

Truly a good book to read

I enjoy Mr L'Amourr writing. As everyone knows he has much knowledge of the west and his subjects. That's why I've read most if not all of his books

The story contained too much reminscing and contemplating. Needed more action and a more aggresive emotional drive.

This was a great book, The murder of Kate's brother by a town rule enforced harshly by the town, leads Kate to kill the town. This was a Good Read.

Love, cowboys, Indians and bad guys! What more does one need when driving. This author is perfect for all day driving.

Western - It was no crime for a young cowboy to want to talk to a pretty girl, but that was what got Tom Lundy killed. The hard men of the Tumbling B, who had survived stampede and Kiowa lance to drive their herd up from Big Bend country, wanted to burn the town down. But Kate Lundy, the Tumbling B's owner, had a better plan. Calling on dozens of seasoned fighters, Kate aimed to strangle the town that lived off cowboy money but had no use for the Texans themselves. With her rugged foreman, Conn Dury, at her side, the proud and beautiful woman might just stand a chance.

When a cowboy crosses to the wrong side of town he winds up dead. One man has to walk a path between honor and justice as he tries to avennge an unforgivable crime. Another excellent tale by a masteer Western writer.

Great story, dark and edgy.

My grandma told me once that my grandpa liked reading Louis L'Amour books, so even though it's not high literature, I find I enjoy them with the idea that my grandpa may have read the same book. The three star rating was probably helped significantly by the aforementioned idea.

This story could have gone many different ways. Too many flashbacks and short stories for such a plain western.

Louis L'Amour writing never disappoints and reading one of his books takes me back to my childhood watching westerns on tv.
