I had the opportunity to encounter some new mercenaries, and it was truly an exciting experience to witness their adventures and escapades. Their boldness and fearlessness in the face of various challenges were quite remarkable.

However, when it came to going back in time, it brought a tinge of sadness. Reading about those characters who are no longer alive made me feel a little disconcerted. It made me realize the transient nature of life and how quickly things can change.

Despite the initial excitement of meeting the new mercenaries, the experience of delving into the past also made me reflect on the importance of珍惜 the present moment and the people around us. It served as a reminder that life is precious and that we should make the most of every opportunity that comes our way.

Overall, it was a complex and thought-provoking experience that left a lasting impression on me.

The beginning of this installment was an improvement compared to the previous one in this series.

It seemed to hold more promise and had a better flow initially.

However, as the story progressed towards the end, it really left me with a rather lackluster feeling.

The conclusion felt rushed and didn't have the impact that I was hoping for.

Out of all the Feist/Riftwar books that I have read so far, this one is by far the weakest.

I would rate it at 3.5, but I have rounded it down due to the disappointing ending.

Despite the better start, the overall experience was not as satisfying as I had anticipated.

I was really looking forward to a more engaging and fulfilling conclusion, but unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver.

Hopefully, the next book in the series will be able to recapture the magic and excitement that made the earlier ones so enjoyable.

Nicely done.

This work is truly remarkable. The writing is so smoothly crafted that it effortlessly draws the reader in. The characters are excellent, each with their own unique charm and personality. One can't help but grow to like the three main protagonists as the story unfolds. They are well-developed and their actions and decisions feel natural and believable. The plot is engaging and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, eager to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this as one of their best works. It is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-written story with great characters and an exciting plot.

It is unclear to me why this relatively short story, which nevertheless seemed to last forever and after just over 200 pages suddenly turned out to be a murder mystery, would have grown into a legend.

Perhaps it was the unique combination of elements within the story. The way it initially lulled the reader into a sense of normalcy, only to shock them with the revelation of a murder mystery, was truly captivating.

The characters were also well-developed, each with their own motives and secrets. This added an extra layer of complexity to the story and made it all the more engaging.

Moreover, the author's writing style was masterful. The use of vivid descriptions and detailed imagery brought the story to life and made it easy for the reader to envision the scenes and events.

All of these factors combined to create a story that was not only entertaining but also thought-provoking. It left a lasting impression on the reader and perhaps that is why it has become a legend.

The story wasn't too bad.

However, it wasn't my favourite.

I'm not entirely certain if it truly contributed anything significant to the universe.

Perhaps it had some interesting elements, but they didn't quite manage to capture my full attention.

The plot seemed a bit lacking in depth, and the characters didn't feel as developed as I would have liked.

Maybe with a bit more refinement and expansion, it could have been a more engaging and memorable addition to the universe.

As it stands, though, it's just an average story that didn't really leave a lasting impression on me.

Overall, I would say it was an okay read, but not something that I would rush to recommend to others.

This is a rather disappointing volume and completely dispensable in the universe of Krondor. From the beginning to the end of this reading, I was bored. Compared to other novels, I couldn't get attached to the characters who were way too smooth. Fortunately, the author's pen is very easy to read.

It seems that this particular installment fails to capture the essence and excitement that one might expect from the Krondor universe. The lackluster characters make it difficult for the reader to engage on a deeper level. However, the saving grace is the author's writing style, which is fluid and accessible.

Perhaps with some improvements in character development and a more engaging plot, this book could have been a worthy addition to the series. As it stands, it leaves much to be desired and is likely to leave readers feeling underwhelmed.

I just couldn't get into this thing.

It was far too slow for my liking.

I managed to get halfway through, but then I just packed it in.

Maybe it's just not my cup of tea.

I don't know if it's because I'm impatient or if there was something wrong with the pacing of whatever it was.

Either way, I'm disappointed that I couldn't stick with it until the end.

I guess I'll have to look for something else that can hold my attention a little better.

It's a shame, really, because I had high hopes for this.

But sometimes things just don't work out the way you expect them to.

Oh well, there's always something new to try.

I absolutely loved the idea of a murder being set within the familiar world of R. Feist.

The concept was truly captivating and it immediately drew me in. The author has managed to create a unique and engaging story that combines the elements of mystery and the well-known fictional universe.

As I delved into the book, I found myself completely immersed in the plot. The characters were well-developed and their interactions added depth to the story. The mystery itself was cleverly crafted, with enough twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat.

I really enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery or is a fan of R. Feist's work. It's a must-read for those who are looking for something different and exciting.

The writing style was流畅 and easy to follow, making it a pleasure to read from start to finish. Overall, it was a great experience and I can't wait to see what else the author has in store for us.

This is perhaps the weakest book within the entire series up until now.

The characters lacked distinctiveness and were easily forgettable. It was difficult to tell them apart and they failed to leave a lasting impression.

The story had an extremely slow start. It took a long time for any real action or excitement to occur, which made it a bit of a chore to get through the initial pages.

And then, the conclusion was rushed and unsatisfying. It felt as if the author had suddenly realized they were running out of space or time and quickly wrapped up the story without giving it the proper attention and development it deserved. As a result, the ending left many loose ends and unanswered questions, leaving the reader feeling disappointed and unfulfilled.

Overall, this book was a let-down compared to the other installments in the series.

Fantasy murder mystery

I read this book several years ago. At that time, I already thought it was quite unusual to have a murder mystery story set within the fantasy genre. It was a unique combination that intrigued me. Now, thirty years later, looking back, it seems truly remarkable. The way the author blended the elements of mystery and fantasy was masterful. In the fantasy world created, there were strange creatures, magical spells, and otherworldly settings. And yet, within this fantastical backdrop, a murder mystery unfolds, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. The characters are complex and engaging, each with their own motives and secrets. As the story progresses, the reader is led on a thrilling journey of discovery, trying to solve the mystery along with the protagonist. It is a book that has stayed with me all these years, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery or a touch of the fantastical.

This is a rather forgettable story within the Riftwar saga.

There is an excessive amount of build-up for the murder that is in question. In fact, it doesn't occur until approximately 75% into the book.

The only aspect of the story that manages to redeem it to some extent is the slight twist ending regarding the murder.

One can only hope that the third story in this trilogy will be an improvement. It would be nice to see a more engaging plot, with less drawn-out build-up and perhaps more interesting characters.

The potential for a great story exists within this trilogy, and it is hoped that the third installment will live up to that potential and provide readers with a more satisfying reading experience.
