I truly appreciate Feist's collaboration with other authors. It brings a new dimension to the works. And I must say that Rosenberg's characters are quite engaging. However, the storytelling aspect of this particular book left a bit to be desired. The writing, to be honest, was rather mediocre. At times, it was even tongue-in-cheek bad, and at other moments, it was just meh. I had hoped for a stronger connection to the rest of the Midkemia storyline. That would have made the reading experience even more fulfilling. Nevertheless, despite its flaws, I was still entertained while reading this book. It had its moments that kept me turning the pages, eager to see what would happen next. Overall, it's not a perfect book, but it does have its redeeming qualities. I look forward to seeing what Feist and his partners come up with in the future.
