This is an outstanding piece of work that truly stands out.

It features 95% non-stop action, leaving no room for any dawdling or dull moments. The introduction of new and interesting characters adds a fresh and exciting dimension to the story.

What's more, the solid world building takes the readers away from the typical and overused locations, offering a unique and immersive experience.

I absolutely loved this one. It had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, unable to put it down. The combination of thrilling action, engaging characters, and a well-crafted world makes it a must-read for any fan of the genre.

I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

Oh, how I have missed you, Raymond E Feist!

I'm not entirely certain why I haven't delved into one of these novels in quite some time. Somehow, I got sidetracked by some truly horrible fantasy novels that left me feeling rather disillusioned. But coming back to these books by Raymond E Feist was like a glorious breath of fresh air.

The story within these pages was just as captivating and engaging as it always has been. The characters, too, were brought to life in the most vivid and believable way. Frankly, I was quite surprised to learn that this particular book was coauthored. However, the story flowed so seamlessly that it was nearly impossible to tell. It was a masterclass in seamless story telling, and I found myself completely immersed in the world that Feist and his coauthor had created. I can't wait to explore more of their works and continue this wonderful literary journey.

Fun concept and decent story.

It had its moments of excitement and engagement. However, at times, it was a bit predictable. The victory at the end seemed a bit too easy considering all that had come before.

Some of the internal conflicts felt a bit forced. They could have been developed better with more time, exposure, or different points of view.

Overall, it was a decent popcorn fantasy. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it also wasn't a disappointment. It provided some entertainment and escapism for a short while.

It had its flaws, but it also had its charm. It's the kind of story that you can enjoy without thinking too much, but it might not leave a lasting impression.

Still, for what it was, it was a reasonably enjoyable read/watch.

I've had this book in my possession for a significant number of years. However, it was only recently that I finally got around to reading it. At one point, I decided to move away from fantasy for a while in order to broaden the scope of my reading. I wanted to explore different genres and gain a more diverse reading experience. But now, looking back, I truly regret that decision.

As I delved into this book, I discovered that it was an absolutely amazing story. The plot was engaging and full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The characters were also a real delight. They were well-developed, with unique personalities and backstories that made them feel truly alive. I found myself completely invested in their lives and rooting for them throughout the entire book. It just goes to show that sometimes, we should trust our instincts and not be too quick to stray from the things we love.

This was truly awesome!

It was extremely battle focused, and I assume this is because of the co-authorship. The way the battles were described was intense and engaging, really making you feel like you were right in the middle of the action.

As usual, the characters were very well developed. Each one had their own unique personality and motives, which made them very believable. I think these are some of my favorite characters in the entire Riftwar saga.

The story was also very well paced, with just the right amount of action and plot development. It kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, and I can't wait to see what happens next in the series. Overall, this was a great read and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy novels.

The writing style presented in this work is markedly distinct from what I have accustomed myself to anticipate from Raymond E. Feist. As a result, it gave the impression of a rather sluggish commencement during the initial quarter or third of the book.

However, as I delved deeper into the text, specifically during the second half of the book, I found myself truly enjoying the story. It was as if a switch had been flipped, and the narrative suddenly became engaging and captivating.

This led me to be extremely glad that I persevered and continued reading. Had I given up prematurely due to the slow start, I would have missed out on the wonderful experience that awaited me in the latter part of the book.

Overall, despite the initial hesitation caused by the unfamiliar writing style, the second half more than made up for it, leaving me with a sense of satisfaction and a desire to explore more of Feist's works.

Good read. The characters in this piece are extremely well crafted. They come to life on the page, making it easy for the reader to engage with them and understand their motives. The exploration of leadership problems is also very real and relatable. It delves into the various issues that leaders face, such as decision-making, communication, and dealing with subordinates. One of the most interesting aspects is the portrayal of pettiness in leaders. This can have a significant impact on a command, either making it successful or causing it to fail. It serves as a good example for young leaders to learn from and avoid such behavior. Overall, I highly recommend this for young leaders who are looking to improve their leadership skills and gain a better understanding of the challenges they may face.

Good read.

Characters are well crafted. Leadership problems are very real. Good example of pettiness in leaders that can make or break a command. Recommend for young leaders.

Maybe one of the best books of Feist. As always, he knows how to maintain the tension well. However, it is the theme of the book that makes The Honourable Enemy so good.

The story likely delves deep into complex themes that engage the reader on multiple levels. It might explore the nature of honor, the blurred lines between enemies and friends, and the moral and ethical dilemmas that characters face.

Feist's writing style probably brings these themes to life in a vivid and engaging way. His descriptions of the characters, their emotions, and the settings create a rich and immersive world that the reader can easily get lost in.

Overall, The Honourable Enemy seems to be a book that not only keeps the reader on the edge of their seat with its exciting plot but also makes them think about important and thought-provoking themes.

A bit of a slog to get through, this book had its moments when I definitely didn't enjoy it. There were times when I questioned if I would have been able to finish it if I wasn't already so deeply invested in the series. However, the ending proved to be a high point. It neatly rounded out the story, bringing a sense of closure and improving my overall impression of the book.

Another aspect that I liked was reading a few snippets about characters from the early books in the Magician series. Characters like Kasumi, Lyam, and Arutha, whom I had long since passed in the main storyline, made brief appearances. It was interesting to see how they fit into the larger narrative and how their stories had evolved over time.

Overall, while the journey through this book wasn't always easy, the ending and the glimpses of familiar characters made it a worthwhile read for fans of the series.

This is a truly remarkable novel that offers a delightful departure from the overall Riftwar cycle.

It delves deeply into the military aspect, with almost no magic present. This is a welcome change of pace compared to the later novels that were more focused on magic.

I had the pleasure of reading this just before the end of the cycle, and I'm extremely glad I did. It provided me with an opportunity to return to the original Riftwar and gain a fresh perspective on Midkemia.

The story is engaging, the characters are well-developed, and the military tactics and strategies are fascinating. It's a great addition to the Riftwar series and definitely deserves a high rating. I would give it 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.

Overall, this novel is a must-read for fans of the Riftwar cycle and anyone who enjoys a good military-themed fantasy adventure.
