This quick read is a truly charming and endearing story that holds within it the potential for darker undertones.

Hina is an exceptionally intelligent yet astonishingly naive high school student. She has developed a crush on her new teacher, who has conveniently just moved in next door to her.

At the outset, he appears to simply be humoring her exuberant and cheerful friendliness. However, as the narrative unfolds, we begin to suspect that there may be more to his presence and his interest in Hina.

The story is crafted in such a way that older readers might easily jump to the worst conclusions about Sensei. Nevertheless, his true intentions remain completely enigmatic. I am eagerly anticipating (and hopeful for) some fascinating twists and turns in the upcoming volumes.

It is this element of mystery and the potential for hidden depths that makes this story so captivating and keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eager to discover what lies beneath the surface.

This clamp work is not my favorite.

To be honest, it just doesn't quite meet my expectations.

The design might seem a bit ordinary, lacking that certain charm or uniqueness that would make it stand out.

Maybe it's the functionality that disappoints me. It doesn't seem to perform as smoothly or efficiently as I would have liked.

Overall, it's just a so-so experience with this clamp work.

I guess there are other options out there that might better suit my needs and preferences.

But who knows, maybe with some improvements or a different approach, it could potentially become something more appealing.

For now, though, I'll have to keep looking for that perfect clamp work that truly satisfies me.

In reality, the score might be a 3.5. This indicates that there are certain aspects that fall short of perfection. However, in my heart, the rating soars to 4.5.

There is something about this situation that I just can't resist. I find myself drawn to it, despite its obvious flaws.

I admit that I'm a sucker for this deeply flawed premise. Maybe it's the potential that I see within it, or perhaps it's the emotional connection that I have formed.

Regardless of the reason, I can't help but be charmed by it. It's like a beautiful but slightly damaged flower that still manages to capture my attention and hold my interest.

Even though I know that it's not perfect, I'm willing to overlook its flaws and embrace it for what it is.

Review for complete series

Hina, the daughter of a wealthy man, has no concept of mistrust. Having been kidnapped multiple times, one would think she'd be more cautious. But when her new neighbour turns out to be covering for her teacher and is always around, she doesn't suspect a thing.

CLAMP is known for their works that can be either brilliant or average. However, Suki: A Like Story is an exception. The plot is ridiculous and the art is rather unappealing. If I didn't know it was by CLAMP, I would never have guessed.

The art, though not to my taste, is still the better part of the whole. That's how little I liked the story. Hina is not just naive; she's almost childlike. She lives alone with her stuffed teddybears, talks to them, and even has them greet her at the door. Her lack of understanding of appropriate social behavior and her belief that there's nothing bad in the world make her seem much younger than her teenage years. There's nothing about her character that I found appealing.

Asou, Hina's new neighbour and teacher, is equally uninteresting. He's in his 30's and the love-interest. While age-gap stories can be done well, this one fails miserably. It's hard to see why Asou would return Hina's feelings. She behaves like a child, and he could be three times her age in terms of maturity. There's something very wrong with a man in his 30's accepting and returning the feelings of a girl who is so mentally behind him.

Hina's naivité is so extreme that it borders on stupidity. She's a danger to herself, and all the other characters seem to exist only to worry about her. The kidnapping plot is resolved in an unconvincing way, and I feel like I'm missing the point of the entire series. Unless it's just about this odd and inappropriate romance.

In conclusion, Suki: A Like Story is a disappointment. The story and characters lack depth, and the art is not enough to save it. I would not recommend this series to anyone.

Continuing my CLAMP reading, I find myself in a bit of a quandary regarding Suki.

Suki is a character who is hyperactive and somewhat dense. She has developed romantic feelings for her 32-year-old Sensei, which is an interesting dynamic.

However, I'm not entirely sure if I like her. There's something about her personality that doesn't quite click with me.

Despite this, I might still give the rest of the series a chance. Maybe there are aspects of the story that will redeem Suki for me or offer a more in-depth exploration of her character.

But for now, I can't say that I'm loving this particular aspect of the series. I'll have to wait and see how things unfold.

Meh. It didn't do much for me.

However, I have all three, so I figure I'll continue.

Maybe there's something more to discover.

Although the initial experience wasn't overly exciting, I'm still curious.

Who knows what might unfold as I keep going?

Perhaps there are hidden gems or unexpected benefits that I haven't yet come across.

I'm willing to give it a chance and see where this journey takes me.

After all, having all three gives me a certain advantage or opportunity.

I don't want to miss out on anything that could potentially be valuable or interesting.

So, despite my initial lackluster impression, I'll persevere and see what the future holds.

1.5 stars.

This rating might seem rather mediocre at first glance. However, it could imply a variety of things. It might suggest that the product or service in question has some redeeming qualities, but also several areas that need improvement.

Perhaps it offers a decent basic functionality, but lacks in terms of innovation or advanced features. On the other hand, it could be that the overall experience was satisfactory, but not outstanding enough to warrant a higher rating.

It's important to note that a 1.5-star rating is not necessarily a condemnation. It can serve as a valuable feedback for the provider to identify the weak points and work on enhancing the offering.

In conclusion, while 1.5 stars may not be a glowing endorsement, it still holds significance in the evaluation process and can lead to positive changes.

An old and often overlooked jewel in CLAMP's crown,
this entire series is C-U-T-E in a very CLAMP way.
Innocent would be an understatement when describing Hinata. In the hands of weaker storytellers, her trait might have become annoying. However, when the ladies of CLAMP take hold of it, it becomes the driving force behind the entire story.
There isn't much action (or just plain much happening) throughout this volume (let alone the series). Yet, that's precisely the charm of it.
The lack of excessive action allows the readers to focus on the characters and their relationships. It gives the story a unique and endearing quality that sets it apart from other works.
CLAMP has once again managed to create a world that is both charming and captivating, filled with characters that we can't help but fall in love with.

So far, I'm not sure. It initially seemed wholesome, but I quickly became scared that something dark might happen.

I do enjoy student-teacher storylines, but not when it involves a kid having romantic feelings. I only like the romantic aspect if it's in a university storyline. When it comes to a kid, I prefer a more fatherly role, and the kid views him that way too, not like this.

Thankfully, the friends call it out and say it's inappropriate. Then there's the issue of the girl living alone because she doesn't want to be a nuisance to her dad, and he's okay with that? I'm again glad that the friends also say that this is a strange move.

If the dad is rich, why not at least have a nanny or something if, for some reason, he can't live with his daughter? Just agreeing that she's too much and letting her live alone like that? She's a kid! The friends also mentioned that this is how incidents happen, so I'm scared that this could turn really dark.

I hope the story takes a better turn and doesn't go down a disturbing path.

Que!!!

OK, I really love CLAMP and I adore their works, their designs, their characters and all the heart they put into them...

But they have the bad habit of making the stories so short that they feel incomplete. These girls need to apply the concept of an EPILOGUE!!

CLAMP CAMPUS, Chunnyan, Suki... truly, I would like a conclusion.

Hinata is beautiful inside and out (and she wins in innocence over Sakura) but she is overly good, almost saintly and that shocked me a bit. She is very good, but she is very blind or I don't know what's wrong with her (maybe she's traumatized or something).

Of all the characters, Tomo is my favorite, and I would have loved to know her backstory.

The story is good, simple and the song "I wanna dance with somebody" by Whitney Houston was playing in my head while reading this.

However, we definitely need an Epilogue!!!

Once upon a time, there was a very special human being.

This person had the unique and extraordinary characteristic of having the brain of a dog.

With the brain of a dog, this human experienced the world in a completely different way.

They had an enhanced sense of smell, able to detect scents that were imperceptible to ordinary humans.

Their hearing was also extremely sharp, picking up the faintest of sounds.

However, this also brought some challenges.

Their thought processes were more instinctual and less rational at times.

They had a strong urge to follow their nose and explore new scents, often getting distracted from their original tasks.

But despite these challenges, this human with the brain of a dog also had many wonderful qualities.

They were loyal and affectionate, always ready to offer a warm embrace or a friendly lick.

Their unique perspective on the world added a touch of magic and wonder to everything they did.

And so, this remarkable individual continued to navigate through life, making the most of their extraordinary gift.
