CLAMP originally began in 1989 as a twelve-member dōjinshi circle, but by 1990, the circle had diminished from twelve to seven. Of the remaining seven, Tamayo Akiyama, Sei Nanao, and Leeza Sei left the group during the production of the RG Veda manga. Other former members of CLAMP also included Soushi Hishika, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Yuzuru Inoue and Shinya Ōmi. Currently, there are four members in the group.

In 2004, CLAMP's 15th anniversary as a mangaka group, the members changed their names from Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi to Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi (her name is pronounced the same, but written with different characters) respectively. The August 2004 issue of Newtype USA, a magazine specializing in events of the anime and manga subcultures, reported that the members of CLAMP simply wanted to try out new names. In a later interview with Ohkawa, it was revealed that initially Mokona wanted to drop her surname because it sounded too immature for her liking, while Nekoi disliked people commenting that her name was the same as Mick Jagger's. Ohkawa and Igarashi, wanting to go with the flow of Nekoi's and Mokona's name changes, changed their names as well.

In 2006, they made their first USA public debut at Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. They were well received at the convention, with 6,000 fans in attendance at their panel.

I have a deep affection for Suki.

However, the realm presented in Suki demands a significant suspension of disbelief, similar to what one would offer to X/1999 or other works by CLAMP that merely seem to occur within our reality.

In this particular series, the fantastical element that stands out is Hina.

Hina brings a unique charm and a touch of the extraordinary to the story. Her presence adds an element of mystery and wonder, making the world of Suki even more captivating.

Despite the need to suspend disbelief, the series manages to draw the reader in and keep them engaged with its interesting characters and plot twists.

Overall, Suki is a fascinating series that combines elements of fantasy and reality in an intriguing way.

Not my fav Clamp series by far!

Clamp is a renowned manga and anime collective with many popular works. However, this particular series fails to capture my interest as much as their others. The story might lack the depth and complexity that I usually expect from Clamp. The characters may not be as well-developed or engaging. The art style, while still maintaining Clamp's signature aesthetic, might not have the same charm for me. There could be several reasons why this series doesn't resonate with me. Maybe the theme is not something that I'm particularly drawn to. Or perhaps the pacing of the story is off. Whatever the case may be, it's clear that this is not my favorite Clamp series.

This series, which was completed in three volumes, was just so cute! It can be perfectly summed up by that one word. In it, we get to know Hinata, who is, let's admit it, completely adorable! Horribly adorable even, which sometimes leans towards total silliness and makes the reader want to shake her. However, her naive side is also what makes her charming, and we quickly let ourselves be charmed by this girl who always knows how to see the good side of things.

Let's not kid ourselves: the plot is quickly revealed, but we wonder exactly how Hinata will react when she too knows what the reader has understood throughout the pages.

I adored all the little passages telling the illustrated history of the bears, which were particularly cute and had interesting morals. The parallel between these little novels and the manga itself is just as nice to see, and we have fun noticing the differences and similarities between what the characters are living through and what is happening with the bears.

The characters all have their own personalities, and I really liked Tomy. Hinata's friends, Toko and Emi, are also to be taken into account, and one of the plot twists really surprised me.

In short, it's a cute story, served by colorful characters and always sublime drawings! https://tempsdemots.wordpress.com/201...

This is the last volume, so my general view is as follows:

It is tender, but very short. Therefore, it does not allow for in-depth exploration of the characters and everything remains very mysterious until the end, which suddenly wants to close the loops.

However, it is Clamp and they are learning here.

Perhaps in future works, they will be able to better develop the characters and storylines, creating a more engaging and satisfying experience for the readers.

Despite its shortcomings, this volume still has its charm and吸引力, and it is interesting to see the evolution of Clamp's style and storytelling techniques.

Overall, it is a worthwhile read for fans of Clamp and those interested in the world of manga.

I simply can't hate anything created by CLAMP. The illustrations are wonderfully drawn, and the story is truly unique. In fact, I could have *ALMOST* fallen in love with it. However, there is a certain aspect that makes me a bit uncomfortable. There is a substantially older person involved, and Hina, who is presumably around 15 or 16 years old, yet acts like she's ten. I'm not too sure about this particular dynamic. Well, to be honest, I do know how I feel about it, and I don't like it at all. Therefore, I have to give a nay to this story. But as I previously mentioned, I just can't bring myself to actually hate it, solely because it's a work of CLAMP.

Not only do I not care to finish the series, but I actively don't want this in my brain. It's a complete fail on the part of CLAMP. The story just doesn't hold my interest. The characters lack depth and the plot seems to be going nowhere. I had high hopes for this series, but it has disappointed me greatly. I feel like I'm wasting my time by continuing to read it. I would rather spend my time on something more engaging and worthwhile. CLAMP really needs to step up their game if they want to keep their fans. Fail, CLAMP, fail.

Review originally published at mangaupdates.com in January, 2008.

We had a great time reading this book aloud together. It contains an abundance of action that manages to hold both of our interests. There is also enough sweetness within its pages to keep us happy, and just the right amount of angst to keep Mommy intrigued. In fact, it makes me grateful to all the gods that I don't have to read Clifford or Backyardigans to her.

I must admit, I would have liked to see a bit more of a pervy side to it (hehehehe - that's just my nature). However, for reading with my child, it was truly delightful. I simply can't help but fall in love with Hinata and her remarkable ability to forgive and always think the best of people. It was truly touching. This book is well worth the read.

My daughter fell asleep during one chapter in volume 3, but I couldn't stop myself from continuing to read until the end. (And I thoroughly enjoyed reading it to her again when she woke up.) I most definitely do not do that with Clifford. Ha.
